PLUS SIZE POSITIVE RECOMMENDATION August 14, 2008 Law Lass (Cleveland, Ohio) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I am a plus-sized mom-to-be so I was concerned about how this would work for me. I have been really pleased with this purchase. I am able to continue wearing my jean capris the rest of this summer, comfortably, which is such a relief. I even fit into clothes a size or two down now (a major plus for women whose size fluctuates producing wardrobes of varying sizes). I didn't see any plus-sized women review this item so I wanted to be sure I did for those who come after me. Over a couple hours or lots of movement you may have to readjust -- sometimes your pants (not the band) start creeping down a bit. But I have never had the band "fail" me or show my unbuttoned pants (yikes!). It's easy to wear, easy to adjust and most important: it's comfortable!! Plus-size moms take heart -- this item WILL work for you too!
Not comfortable July 18, 2007 Megan Martin (Columbia, SC) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
The Bella Band makes your pants bunch, much like if you had on a pair of pants that are too big and then you tightened a belt around them. I got this to use in early pregnancy so that I could continue to wear my regular non-pregnant clothes. With the pants bunching problem I had to start wearing maternity shirts to cover the bunching. So, the Bella Band never was very useful for me. I also found it to be uncomfortable. I don't like anything tight around the middle when I'm pregnant. If you are going to buy this product I would buy one size bigger than suggested. That may solve the issue. I'm not spending any more money to find out.
Greatest invention ever! June 3, 2008 K. Conway (Bourne, MA United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I LOVE this product and when I ordered one I wasn't sure I was going to like it. But it is awesome! WIthin 24 hours I was back online ordering 2 more for a total of 3. It really does support your belly and smooth out clothes that don't quite fit right. I bought a medium and I was 145lbs and 5'4" BEFORE I was pregnant - It fits perfect - snug but not overly tight. GREAT product, though I think I will hand wash it since I suspect the washer and dryer will kill it. ORDER MORE THAN ONE!
Eh... October 5, 2007 Allison L. Hodgson (Reston, VA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This product is helpful under very limited circumstances. If you have curves, the Bella Band WILL NOT help you much. If you're more or less straight lines all the way down (no little waist and rounder hips), the band will slide up, leaving the dreaded "coin slot" that you may remember from your low rise jeans days. I'll come right out and say it, I've got a big butt. And it's a really nice one. Tiny waist. This is pretty average for women (though most clothes aren't designed that way) - which makes the Bella Band much better in theory than execution. Yes, I do wear it to keep up my maternity pants that are still too big for my growing belly, but I still have to hike up my pants and pull the band down every time I stand up. Very professional-looking. So go ahead and buy it, or better yet get one of the cheaper ones (mimi maternity sells cheaper ones I think), but just know that it will still be more work than it's likely worth.
It doesn't stay put January 11, 2007 Corinne Bonynge (CA, USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Maybe I got it too small, but it rolls up and down. If I were to purchase another one, I'd get a size larger. I am a size 8-10 maternity, and I purchased a size small. I probably should have gotten a medium. I wish it stayed put because so many of my pants won't stay up, or my tummy hangs out of some of the shirts. It may be worth a try for you though.
