Sturdy & Good Quality January 18, 2007 LCJ (Central Jersey) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this for my 10 year old daughter who is in the 4th grade. This year, she needed to bring home books and folders that weighed a lot more than she can carry without hurting herself. I've bought cheaper wheeled backpacks before at office supplies stores and they always break within a month, so I really hesitated in buying another one ... especially over the internet. But I couldn't find any in any stores, so I decided to chance it. We're glad we did and we're glad we chose the larger version. She packs that thing to the max and the wheels are still rolling, the handle is works, and the seams are still intact. The only negative is we wish it was bigger. On some days, she can't fit her thick Harry Potter book and lunch bag; and she also has to carry her Viola case.
Worth every penny October 25, 2008 Stacy Schneider (Glendale, AZ United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I HIGHLY recommend this backpack! My kids are very rough on their backpacks, and this is the only backpack we've ever owned that not only made it through the whole school year, but still looks and works great for the next school year! I purchased this product in August '07. I ordered this one because of the rubber molded bottom; every other rolling backpack my kids have owned has gotten rips or tears in the bottom from scraping the ground. My kids' backpacks usually look terrible after the first few months of school, but not this one...my daughter was able to use this one again this year, and it looks and operates just like it did the day we got it. Yes, the wheels will get a little scuffed, but the lights are still very bright, and the kids love them. We've had no issues at all with the handle. I am ordering a second one for my youngest child who is in kindergarten, and just had the handle fall off on his Power Rangers bag. He is willing to give up having a "character" backpack to have this one. The only cons I have found is that the backpack is kind of heavy- even when empty- for younger children (because it is made so well!) and it does seem a little cramped inside...which probably would not be the best choice for older kids with lots of big books.
Great backpack February 9, 2007 Krystalin (California, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been using this backpack for about a week so far, and it has not disappointed me in any way. Upon first receiving it, I was a little concerned that it might not be big enough for all my textbooks, but all fit, though a bit snuggly. The front pocket organizer is wonderful! It has at least half a dozen pockets and pencil-holding spaces for things of all sizes. An extra feature that I thought was cute is that the wheels light up as you roll the bag. Things that I am wondering about that may or may not hold up over the test of time include the extending and retracting handle (I wonder if it may wear out with repeated use) and that the lights inside the wheels may be scuffed over and become hard to see as the wheels are worn from the ground (Noting this just in case the bright lights are of great importance to anyone in their purchasing decision), and I noticed a few loose threads around the base of the backpack after just this one week of use. I really didn't think I was being too hard on the poor thing. Other than those few things, I really am enjoying this backpack so far. We'll see how long it lasts!
