Amazon.com Product Description Take it to the streets with Spalding's officially sized and affordably priced NBA Street basketball. It's designed to withstand the street game with a durable outdoor rubber cover. It features deep, black channels for expert handling on the court and all-ball pebbling for a good grip. This official NBA sized ball--with the official NBA logo and NBA Commissioner David Stern's signature--has a 29.5-inch circumference.
The official NBA logo is featured on this official-size ball. |
The pebbled texture on the surface of the ball provides an outstanding grip and feel. | About Spalding As a Division of Russell Corporation, the Spalding Group consists of three business units: Spalding in Springfield, MA; American Athletic, Inc. Excellent Rubber Basketball for Outdoor Play September 29, 2007 Chandana Wanigasekera (Miami, FL USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Ball is well constructed and comes well packaged. Seems durable as well. Note that this is a rubber ball and therefore will be rougher on the hands than an indoor leather ball. I'm happy with it.
Where's The Bounce ?? February 8, 2008 Huntsville (Huntsville, AL) 6 out of 12 found this review helpful
I bought this basketball because I've owned Spaldings before and they have been great basketballs in the past. Unfortunately, apparently things change - in this case, for the worse. Even at high pressure, this basketball lacks bounce and seemed hard to control. It takes away from your game when you have to concentrate on dribbling the ball instead of where you want to go on the court and what kind of shot you want to make. And Spalding cheaped out and saved themselves a quarter by not even including an inflation needle with this inferior quality basketball. And apparently Spalding does not want to hear about any customer concerns, because there is no address or phone number for Spalding on the ball or on the package that it came in. Spalding should be ashamed for selling this basketball and the NBA should be ashamed for allowing Spalding to put their name and logo on it.

good outdoor ball . . . September 5, 2008 trebe 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For an outdoor basketball, grip, durability and balance, are probably the most important considerations. Spalding's `Street' basketball ranks pretty high in those key departments. You get a nice firm grip, the durability of the pebbled finish seems to be pretty good, and you get a nice bounce on various types of hardcourts. The grip may not be as good as Spalding's NBA `Legacy' ball, but it is very close. Like many outdoor type balls, it may feel a little heavy on an indoor court. It's reasonably priced, so if you need an outdoor ball, you really can't go wrong with this one.
