Product Description Prevent Dog attacks! Using the latest Ultrasonic Technology, the Dazer II produces a discomforting but not harmful high powered sound, audible to dogs but not to humans. A great gift idea. Can I hear the Dazer II ? No the sound is in the ultrasonic region but dogs and cats clearly hear it. Generally it works best in the 15 to 20 foot range. Can the Dazer II help stop a dog from barking? Yes, by repeated usage and adding a verbal command (such as "Be Quiet") you may be able to train you dog not to bark. By using the sound and verble command you may be able to train you dog to do many wonderful things.

It works. Believe it! February 12, 2007 Boo Radley (USA) 69 out of 72 found this review helpful
Add me to the growing list here of people who swear by this product and are amazed at its effectiveness. It really does work, so much so that I felt compelled to tell others. Like other reviewers, I bought the Dazer in desperation after all other methods had failed to stop my neighbors' two Schnauzers from barking at me and my children every time we tried to use our own back yard. When I first used the Dazer on them, the dogs actually stopped mid-bark and looked at me as if I had just called them Chihuahuas. When they started to bark again, I Dazed them a second time and again, they stopped instantly. I then gave the now-silent and clearly befuddled mutts one final shot of ultrasonic goodness for good measure (heh heh), at which they turned and scurried off into their house - not in pain, but clearly annoyed at whatever sound the Dazer puts out (humans cannot hear it, nor can my two elderly dogs). The mongrels and I repeated this scenario for two more days after this, and that did the trick. Now when anybody in my family goes into the back, they either run off or ignore us completely. Oh, they still bark sometimes, but not at us. Like John Wayne (as one reviewer put it so well), I keep the Dazer clipped to my waistband just in case I need to remind them what it sounds like. I might even have done so once or twice, but that cannot be confirmed. I don't know if the thing works on all dogs, or if it stops a charging dog, and I hope never to find out. I wouldn't rely on the Dazer or any other device to protect my children from an attacking dog, anyway, as Mr. Schinzer below might. But I know this: the Dazer has made my back yard a fun and QUIET place for me and my family to enjoy once again. Now, if it only worked on loud people...
buy a different brand - 1 star is too many for this one January 19, 2006 Mike H (Corona, CA) 28 out of 31 found this review helpful
Dogs and cats react only because the sound is novel to them. The device I received and the replacement after that were so low powered that some animals walk over out of curiosity, some don't react at all and the ones that it scares is only because the new sound startles them. I had a chance to try a different brand years ago and I know from that experience that this brand is a toy in comparison. If you think this will protect then give it to your kids and watch how fast they get themselve eaten. There you go, suicide by dog, that's a good use for it. May be it is just quality control, you might get lucky, if not then you might have to deal with a seller that won't return calls or e-mail, like i did. So you bypass by finding his supplier and get a replacement that is just as bad. Go to the website and they are obviously throwing away the bad reviews they get and posting only favorable ones. I hate being cheated. Score another point for the bad guys.
not for all dogs December 13, 2005 Chris E. Servais 23 out of 29 found this review helpful
I have a very hyper mini schnauzer and i thought that i could control her aggressive barking and yapping. It is very out of control and this device didnt help at all. I know am purchasing a tritronic no bark shock collar. A friend has one and recommended it to me. They are 99 dollars but this is 25 and not worth a dime to me. The dazer does get animals attention for a while but they soon get use to it and then all you can do for it to be effective is to throw it at them.
Dog Dazer September 11, 2006 Ben (Virginia, USA) 19 out of 22 found this review helpful
Before I bought this item I read the other customer reviews and they said this item worked. I tried the Dog Dazer over and over on dogs with no effect. I can see them react that they can hear it, but the Dog Dazer does not stop the dog from barking or approaching. I am glad I did not try to use the Dog Dazer on a vicious dog that was coming after my kids. I am completely unsatisfied with this product.
Dogs will pay attention to this..but.. January 12, 2006 Forrest Wildwood (The house with the narrow gate) 18 out of 25 found this review helpful
it requires effort from owners. Bought this to help control our Sheltie's barking behavior. When we first tried it, he would stop and look around to see where the sound was coming from. We noticed that this alone wouldn't stop his bark and required us to work with him by using voice commands like 'No' or 'Quiet'. This means time and patience working with him and my kids didn't help very much. They have a tendency to push the button and not do the commands. So now the dog thinks that the sound comes from the things that he likes to bark at...some re-training to do here. My next purchase will probably be a Citronella Collar..I'm opposed to the shock treatment from shock collars as this seems cruel and can teach some dogs to be mean. Better still maybe a good book on dog training is in order. My oldest daughter used this when walking the dog around the neighborhood and found that it did stop some of the neighbor's dogs from barking or at least got their attention. My question now is could this possibly stop or delay a dog attack??...at least long enough to get away or somehow protect yourself. Not sure I would want to risk trying this though but it might be worth taking on walks..just in case?
