Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Very useful tool   May 18, 2008

This product was easy to use and provided a high degree of safety to examining and working in a horse's mouth. I am just learning how to float my own horses teeth and this device made getting in there safely a breeze. Now I only have to worry about the technicalities of the floating and not getting bitten or hurtung the horse. I use a small amount rhompin IV (Your Vet can do this for you if you are not comfortable doing it for your own horses) *Note only a VET can administer to other peoples horses so don't do it for others. This device is a solidly constructed stainless steel with leather straps. It includes the tooth plates and an unusual addition of the leather covered plates to hold the horses mouth open using the gum area just behind the front teeth and in front of the rear. I have not used this yet. There is also a top and bottom strap and I removed the bottom so I just insert this as if I were placing a bridle on the horse and then I tighten the strap behind the ears with my left hand so that the tooth plates are tightened in the correct position I hold them in with my right hand. Very short learning curve on this to get it just right.
