Amazon.com Product Description
Invicta's large-sized Pro Diver G2 stainless steel men's automatic watch is perfect for the serious diver who also wants to turn heads with a stylish watch. This shock-resistant timepiece features a solid stainless steel case that's topped by a unidirectional rotating bezel with embossed elapsed time markings and scalloped edges. The black dial face includes large Tritnite luminous markers and hands (with seconds hand) and a date window at 3 o'clock with magnifier. It's matched with a comfortable black rubber strap with rounded accents, and it's joined by a buckle. Other features include a see-through case back, anti-reflective mineral crystal, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--suitable for recreational diving.

An automatic (or self-winding) watch is fitted with a device (rotor) that automatically winds the spring by using the force of gravity. It needs no battery, but it will stop if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time--as long as you're moving, the watch will stay powered. Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Perrelet invented the self-winding mechanism in 1770. It worked on the same principle as a modern pedometer, and was designed to wind as the owner walked.

Tritnite is a luminous material with an extended glow exclusively developed by Invicta in Switzerland and added to their timepiece hands and markers. When exposed to regular daylight, it will hold its glow for about 20 hours.

About Invicta
Latin for "invincible," Invicta was founded in La Chaux-de-fonds, Switzerland in 1837 by Raphael Picard, who believed that fine Swiss timepieces could be offered at modest prices. For more than a century, the company has created distinctive manual and automatic-winding pieces. In 1991, descendants of the Picard family reaffirmed the company's founding principle, and the invigorated Invicta has been growing ever since with one of the most widely diverse collections of precise Swiss timepieces on the market.

5 out of 5 stars don't expect a rolex   August 11, 2007

this is my second invicta automatic.
i got the almost-identical goldtone version, then got this for sports/outdoors stuff the other one was too 'nice' for.
comes as advertised, with signature leather yellow box. looks better on your wrist than in the ad. for around $100, plus a gift umbrella, it's an excellent deal. i'd recommend this as a gift or for personal use, and at this price you can buy two.

not as dressy as the stainless-steel versions due to rubber band, but still very sporty and masculine. the rubber band does have its advantages, though. it survived an outdoor music festival on the eel river and came back none the worse for wear. in fact, it still looked new even after several submergings, so i don't doubt you could dive with it. the luminous hands and bezel dot are a nice touch, but really need a lot of sunlight to charge for any significant length of time.

speaking of which, the timekeeping is very good for an automatic watch. it does tend to run a little fast but not by much. like all invicta automatics, it can be hacked, meaning you can reset the auto movement with a few turns of the crown. that's a big advantage over more expensive autos like the seiko, which can only be reset by shaking. that comes in handy if you don't want to wear it every day. otherwise, you might have to get a winder.

at this price, don't expect a rolex, but you do get rolex-type performance at a fraction of the cost. the old adage you get what you pay for isn't true in this case. with this one, you get more than you pay for. just don't tell anyone how little you paid, let them think it cost a bundle.

3 out of 5 stars Good Value   February 26, 2008

I bought this timepiece during a fairly recent "Daily Watch Deal" for $69.

This watch features a stainless steel case, screw-in crown, 21 jewel miyota automatic, black face with luminescent markers, and a solid rubber strap.

A sloppy automatic movement which at times is inaccurate and relatively loud detracts from the overall package. In addition, I was under the impression that the rubber strap was ribbed throughout, but actually is not (2 on each side of strap).

For what it is, you really can not go wrong, it is an attractive, inexpensive watch and should definitely be added to one's collection. However, don't expect a watch that "lists" for $315.

These watches are not worth the Price, You can get a Seiko diver for the same money here on Amazon.
They have a high Failure rate and the Lunimuos stuff isn't very!

I have tried 3 of them, and returned them all.

4 out of 5 stars Invicta Pro Diver S2   February 22, 2007

This is a very good watch for the $. The case, band, glow, and over all detail is very good. There are a few negitives, the movement is O.K. it's not very smooth but very good at keeping time. The bezel is made of good materials, is not on very tight though, so sand gets into it ,but if you try it can be removed. My biggest problem is it is just a Rolex Sub. knock off, so if your going for different this is not for you. It works for me as my everyday beater and still looks very nice. I say buy it, you won't regret it.
