Know About this Brand before You Buy May 14, 2008 Jeremy Goodell (Irvine, CA) 49 out of 57 found this review helpful
Horizon has been boycotted by the Organic Consumers Association and is the target of frequent complaints filed with the USDA because of their poor track record with regard to compliance with organic standards. Since they were bought by 12-billion dollar mega-corp Dean Foods, a large percentage of their organic dairy has been produced at factory farms, some with upwards of 10,000 cows. I recently started a blog about this subject because it irritates me on a personal level. See my blog for more information and links regarding Horizon Dairy products: [...]
delicious- but don't buy it here June 19, 2007 Laura Breyfogle (boston, ma) 47 out of 47 found this review helpful
Fabulous product- very yum and convenient= however, $25 for a case is highway robbery. If you have a whole foods near you- it's 5-7 dollars cheaper by the case, and 2-3 dollars cheaper even if you purchase individually.
DO NOT BUY THIS!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST ! HORIZON IS A SCAM!!! August 4, 2008 Jennifer Lee Nuss (Kentucky) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
After researching Horizon Products (milk, yogurt, sour cream, etc.) I found out that they have the fields of organic grass, but they do not let the cows out into it. In fact, there are pictures of every time of day with cows sitting in the dirt looking into the fenced pasture. In order to be considered "organic", the farm where Horizon gets their milk to make all their products has the pasture to qualify by law, but apparently that's all they need. BEWARE, AND DO YOUR EXTENSIVE RESEARCH FIRST! google "horizon organic scam". Amazon would not let me post a link for everyone...so PLEASE google this for yourself before buying anything from horizon.
Twice the price of Horizon Organic's fresh milk August 11, 2007 Dwight (USA) 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
After the discount, these are twice the price of regularly packaged organic milk which is twice the reported all time high price of fresh milk. I mainly use liquid milk for ice cream and I use cheaper powdered milk for baking. Although I am paying double, there is no waste and no accompanying stress and also no frequent trips to the market to keep this stuff on hand. In New York City, fresh organic milk is a whopping $8 per gallon. The national average for regular milk is now at an all time high of $3.80.
Delicious and convenient! August 11, 2007 R. Greenlee (Denver, CO) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
My son loves this milk and we can take it anywhere when we're traveling. I also pack it with his lunch and it's a great alternative to juice and soda!
