| Customer Reviews:
Improves Gums, but has a short lifespan January 18, 2008 Karen G (Illinois, USA) I had reservations about this little plastic device but after using it my dentist mentioned my improved gums at my next appointment. It does have one major design flaw. Once the battery that comes with it runs out, it is impossible to get another battery to run it again. If you are willing to buy this product you will get results but you are only getting one battery's worth of life. Also, be very careful, if you lay it down and it turns on accidentally, that one is now wasted. It is a shame this happens because it is really pretty durable and has the potential to last for a long time
Good value and reliable (after two months and a workaround) November 14, 2007 James Timothy Ball (San Francisco, CA) This is the first battery-operated or vibrating gum massager I've ever owned, so I was curious yet cautious when I ordered, but figured the relatively low per item cost made it worth at least trying. After two months I've been pleasantly surprised with results. I gave two of the three away; the one I kept I use an average of 3 - 5 mins a day and I'm still on my first battery and rubber pik attachment. The vibrating sensation is stimulating and the pick seems to be nearly as effective as the conventional copper handled piks as far as reach and durability (the conventional style seems to have a slightly larger and more rigid pik attachment). Great to do while watching TV and my gums feel great afterwards. One critical design flaw I observed with this product is that at some point after repeated unscrewing and screwing of the battery securing base cap, the delicate switch and motor oontact assembly will gradually fail such that the motor won't engage at all. When I completely removed the colored rubber switch cover, the switch and motor worked perfectly again, thus salvaging what could have been a throw-away purchase. Please fix this and then I would rate 5 stars! An added feature I would suggest would be to make the unit longer, allowing the top half to unscrew from the section the battery is stored, and feature this as an area to store replacement rubber piks (I invariably lose the extra bits, attachments, parts, etc. to just about every appliance I own unless they somehow attach to or can be stored in the body of the unit).
Not reliable June 8, 2007 John Kendall (Leander, Texas USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased a package of three. One lasted five days before ceasing to work. The other two lasted less than four weeks before ceasing to function. The bateries are not the problem. I chnaged those several times. The product just doesn't work.
