Product Description The Tripp Trapp is a sturdy children's chair that grows with your child. It lifts them up so they can be included in activities around the table. Children love interacting with the family. In today's hectic lifestyle, it is more important than ever to encourage these special moments of togetherness. The dining table is more than a place for mealtimes. It's for playing, homework or simply just talking, enjoying quality time together. A child sitting at the same height as an adult at a table stimulates development of confidence. We believe that life around the table is incredibly important. As an adult, we have the luxury of being able to rest our feet on the floor, allowing us to move freely to get comfortable. For your child, there is no such luxury. Tripp Trapp therefore features a unique, adjustable footrest that brings the floor up to your child. This creates better balance and comfort, as your child can easily shift their weight. By sitting with the feet supported and elbows at the table height, your child can move easier and naturally and use their body without strain. It's all about support, balance and movement. Features: - The original award winning highchair
- Adjust to be used when child is ready to sit on his own (around 6 months) through adulthood
- Seat and footrest are adjustable to the size of your child - 5 different seat positions
- Ergonomically designed to provide stability, comfort and confidence
- Made of cultivated beechwood, providing strong, solid and durability
- Meets US and international safety standards
- Five-point safety harness
- JPMA certified
- Holds up to 300 lbs.
- Seven-year warranty on all wooden components
- Measures 18"W x 19.25"D x 31"H

Works perfectly for my 5.5 month baby August 23, 2007 Jeannette Swartz (Oakland, CA United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've noticed that most of the reviewers seem to be addressing using this for toddlers, but I am having great success with my infant. We selected this chair (in bright orange) for our baby registry (Thanks, Grandma!), and I have just set it up because I'm starting our baby on solid foods. We use the baby rail and the cushions and harness, and it works beautifully! She seems to be quite comfortable, and fits perfectly on the smallest suggested settings for the seat and foot support. The baby rail fits right up under the tabletop, and with a placemat in front of her, there has been very little mess to clean up (so far, but then I'm the one doing the feeding right now). It's so easy to push her away from the table when she's done eating rather than fighting with a tray, and I love having her sitting right at the table with us during meals. I'm very happy with the chair, and even more pleased that I don't have to use one of those ugly plastic things. The tripp-trapp is also lightweight enough that I can easily take her from the dining room into the kitchen where she can watch me while I work. The only thing I would change would be that the harness does have a little difficulty staying up on her shoulders, so I'm going to make a little cincher to keep it in place between her shoulder blades. I bet it fits better on larger children.
Better than any high chair January 17, 2007 J. Watts (Dallas, TX) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We bought the earlier model of this chair (the kinderzeat) for my older son when he was about 18 months and refused to sit in his booster chair anymore. There was a lot of running around the table. When we got the chair he was immediately more comfortable and would actually sit through a meal. He's almost 4 now and I'm just now brave enough to let him pick out a cushion for it. He still likes "his" chair. I'm now shopping for another one for my younger son who is 8 months. I love that it pulls right up to the table and they are a part of your meals. The chair itself is extremely durable and very easy to clean. The only downside is the price - but I justify it by not buying a high chair first. This is the only chair your baby should ever need.
Not worth it October 21, 2007 A. Ryplewski 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
My son has nearly tipped the chair over both times I put him in it. He pushes on the table and the chair tips back. He also has trouble sitting up straight because of the way the harnesses work. The harness is extremely hard to adjust. It says it can be used at 6 months, but I disagree, my son is sitting up well on his own and this chair seems to handicap him. I didn't purchase the separate baby rail, so maybe that would have helped, but I couldn't see spending $40 more on something we would only need for a short time (not to mention we already spent $240). I was very excited to get this chair after reading all the reviews. Sadly, I am returning it today.
unsafe chair January 23, 2008 Jeannie Massey (los angeles, ca) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
great seat, sits close to table, good positioning, however toddler can easily climb up the chair like a ladder. we also have the baby rail, makes for even faster climb. she can climb with or without the baby rail.
Highly recommended; almost 7-month old loves it June 20, 2007 First time mother (West Hartford, CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our daughter is very happy in this chair. We got it just after she turned 6 months, and while it was a little early, as she wasn't a fully self-supported sitter, we started using the chair right away for her own meals, and to "sit" with us during our meals. She tired more quickly initially (be sure to watch a very young child carefully as he/she becomes used to the chair), but she is now almost 7 months old, can push herself up to sitting when on the floor, and is very comfortable with and happy in this chair. (She no longer tires while sitting in.) We love having her "with" us during our own meals. I found some non-slip placemats for her space at the table in the event that fingers become sticky and make their way to the "adult" table -- this has been a very good solution. I also put her in it and pull her up to the piano when I play, so she can check out what is going on (otherwise, she crawls over and wants "up") -- she loves it! This chair was very easy to assemble, and the white plastic baby seat is easy to incorporate into the chair and very stable. The straps take a little getting used to, but they work well, and now I'm accustomed to using them.
