almost great, but... July 17, 2007 M. Yanovich (Los Angeles, CA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'd have given this chair 5 stars if it weren't so darned impossible to clean. We have a 6 month old, and this is his highchair. He's incredibly messy when he eats (that's how babies are at that age), and cleaning dried baby food off the wood chair isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, especially as excessive moisture will damage the wood. What's worse is the safety strap that's built into the seat back. Cleaning the strap is extremely difficult. Want to remove the strap and wash it? Be prepapred to not only unscrew the harness attachment from the chair back, but you also have to disassemble the chair to slide the strap off. Doing that every now and then I suppose would be ok, but after using the chair for just 3 week, the strap is vile and reeks. Having to clean it on a regular basis makes taking the chair apart a major headache. I'd hold off on buying this chair for babies, wait until the kids are older. If they would only make the cleaning aspect easier.... sigh. ------------------------------------ Update, 1 year later. My son is now 18 months old, and the chair is much more age appropriate for him. Sure he's still messy, and the strap is kinda gross, but we no longer use the upper body straps, instead we just use the 3 point strap that goes around his legs and waist. It's nice bringing him to the table to eat with us, and as he's grown adjusting the chair has been easy to do. The poor strap design is still unacceptable in my opinion, but otherwise we're really happy we bought the chair now. Gonna change my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Again, for slightly older kids only. If we have a 2nd kid in the future, we wouldn't get a second chair until they're older.
Better than any high chair December 29, 2007 J. Watts (Dallas, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I give it 5 stars because it has passed the lasting baby product test. We are still using this for our 4 1/2 yo. And we bought another one for the 2nd child when he was 6 months (that was a year ago). Some products claim to "transition", but this one really does. It goes from high chair, to booster to regular chair. I think the oldest might outgrow it around 6-8, but for now he's still happy in his chair. We originally bought it because the older one wouldn't sit in his booster seat at 18 months old. This solved that problem. The negatives - the straps are hard to clean. It isn't for babies who can't sit up on their own yet. It is expensive. But - it will last a long time, so I justified the cost as not buying a high chair, and then a booster chair.
GREAT CHAIR March 30, 2008 M. W. Bradley (DALLAS , TEXAS) MY LITTLE 2YR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER THINKS THIS CHAIR IS GREAT, SHE HAS A BIG GIRL CHAIR NOW.
Awesome chair! May 9, 2008 L. Combs I bought this chair for my mom (who keeps my daughter a ton!). It looks GREAT - was easy to put together - and my 15 month old LOVES to crawl up and down. She thinks she is really cool. I will definitely buy one for myself soon.
GREAT SEAT May 17, 2008 Mom of two boys Bought 1 chair to try for my 2.5yo & 5yo they both love it (the little one uses it when an older brother is not there). It is better for ther posture then other seats. I like the fact that there is a foot rest. The small problem is that it is not leveled. (It sort of rocks). I called the company. They recommended to loosen the screws a bit and then tighten them slightly, but when I did that the foot rest started to fall out. So, the chair is ok unless kids want to get on my nerves and start rocking in it. Also I wish I could compleatly remove the harness. My kids do not need it. (I wish I could get an original kinderzeat)
