Product Description Free at last! Don't spend the evening in the other room or covered up with a teddy bear blanket! Bebe Au Laits Nursing Covers for Chic Mothers, were conceived from the need for privacy and style while breastfeeding. The Bebe Au Lait gives breastfeeding moms the freedom to spend time with family and friends while nourishing their child. Unlike any old blanket used while breastfeeding, the Bebe Au Lait is firmly attached to the nursing mother, so that Baby cant grab it & throw it off, compromising Mommys modesty! Each nursing cover is generously sized to fit every nursing mother. The neck strap is completely adjustable. A terry cloth panel at the bottom corner is perfect for little clean-ups! A unique feature of the Bebe Au Lait is the ability to shape the top edge, so that mother and baby can continuously make eye contact while nursing, an essential part of mother and child bonding & attachment. The Bebe Au Lait folds up nicely to easily toss into any purse or diaperbag.

Great product March 26, 2007 msheit (Minnesota) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
It sounds like the previous reviewer didn't even try the product. This product is easy to use, and very useful. The wire at the top holds the cover so you can see baby while feeding, and the tie around the neck keesp it on instead of fumbling with a blanket. It helps when you want to be little more discreet with breastfeeding, and also helps new breastfeedings moms take time to have baby latch on well. If a woman is comfortable breastfeeding everywhere, this product may not be necessary. For those of us who believe in breastfeeding, but want to be private it is a great product. It's nice that it comes in a variety of colors as well.
Fabulous! April 8, 2007 A. Clark 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I agree. This is a great product. I'm not embarassed to BF my children, however I do have a strong sense of modesty. This nursing cover allows you complete privacy in a stylish way. If you think the product is too pricey you can go to a fabric store and make one yourself (if you're handy like that-I"m not). I love all the fabric choices and corresponding burp clothes. I've given this as a gift at several baby showers and the moms' LOVE it! I'm expecting my next child shortly and can't wait to use the cover again, especially since I'll be running after my toddler while BF.
Nice-looking and easy to use September 28, 2007 A. B. A. Campbell (Auburn, MA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I personally have no problem breastfeeding in public. I'm not generally uncomfortable, and if people have a problem with it, they can go to... ;) But I do like it to help keep the sun off of my baby if I'm nursing her outside, and it has been nice when I have to use my breastpump somewhere less-than-private, because it is one thing if I have an infant hanging off of me, but I do feel a little weird using the pump when I don't have totally privacy (ex: I went back to school recently, and have to pump in a conference room. It's pretty private, but there are windows along one wall and windows next to the doorway that someone could peek into if they wanted.) The fabric is sturdy, nice, attractive and easy to use. These come in a lot of different fabrics, so there's really something for everyone. I have and like the Mayfair pattern. It is easy to use, much easier than trying to keep a blanket from sliding out of place or overheating your infant and you-it provides breathability and airflow, and you can see your baby more easily without suffocating yourself or the baby like with a blanket. It's comfortable and lightweight to wear, and folds back up nice and compactly. I keep it stashed in the flat back pocket of my breastpump bag, or throw it in the diaper bag as needed.
Great product! July 22, 2007 K. OConnor 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Great for nursing in public - wish I would have had one of these with my first child. Light weight, collar is great for viewing baby - only downside is if you are outside on a windy day. Light weight fabric means you need to tuck fabric into you to keep from blowing open*, but otherwise a great, great product. (*recently experienced this!)
Great idea but tough to use with an active baby! December 26, 2007 Quilla (Southern California) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Bebe au Lait/Hooter Hiders are a really great idea and they probably work great for a lot of BFing moms/babies. I have a VERY active, inquisitive little boy though and it's been tough. I bought Chocolat (which is a really beautiful print...I love it!). The problem is that if I'm BFing in a sunny area, the light shines through the material...under the cover, the affect is like stained glass and it totally distracts my boy. (Kind of funny, I know!) The result is that he keeps coming off to look at the pretty colors and trying to get him to latch on again is like wrestling. Add a fabric cover to the mix and the result is total chaos. Instead of making me feel like I can BF more discreetly, I feel like I'm putting on a show. However, I'd have the same problem with a blanket, so at least this cover didn't fall off! I have had better success with the cover when it's been dark or dusky out, or when my son is in a more mellow, hungrier frame of mind, lol. Anyway, I think that like with all baby products, this cover will be a lifesaver for some, but not all.
