Come Scented Too January 7, 2007 cam (Lexington, KY USA) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Other parents told us about these, specifically the vanilla scented ones. Baby #1 was bottle fed and took to an Advent pacifier right away. But we used these scented soothies whenever we couldn't get a bottle ready fast enough for her likes. Not sure if it was the shape of the soothie pacifier or the scent, but she always calmed down while we'd finish getting the bottle ready. Baby #2 was also bottle fed, but did not take to any pacifier right away. We tried these regular soothies as well as the vanilla ones and the Advent ones too. She eventually took to the Advent. It really is up to each baby what they will like. But these are definately worth trying. In addition to the regular and vanilla ones, there are also various sizes, including preemie, pacifiers attached to small stuffed animals that are easier for babies to find and put into their mouth...and also easier for Mom & Dad to find in the back of the car, the darkened bedroom, etc.
Thank goodness! December 3, 2006 working mother of two (Michigan) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
My newborn son would not take a pacifier for the first three weeks of his life. We tried many different brands (Advent, Mam, etc.) but unlike his older sister who took to the Advent brand on her second day of her life, he did not like it at all. The shape of the pacifier seems more natural to the breastfeed baby. I would strongly recommend this pacifier to all mothers that are breastfeeding. We are so thankful that we found this pacifier, especially at 2 in the morning!!
My son likes them, but they annoy me... March 26, 2007 Staring Girl (Thornton, CO) 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
Well, I can't give them too bad of a review since this is the only pacifier my son will take. However, I can't give it all five stars either... For one, this pacifier is really bulky compared to other pacifiers. It almost looks like the nipple you would put on a bottle...it's that bulky. Second, there is an attatcher that attatches to the pacifier and clips to the baby's cloths so the pacifier doesn't fall on the floor, and that is even more bulkier than the pacifier. So using the two of them your baby is almost consumed with this pacifier. I guess my biggest beef with this pacifier is more cosmitically. It's an ugly pacifier. Besides it being ugly, it's a pretty good pacifier. I like that my son didn't have a problem with nipple confusion due to using this. From the moment he was born he just had a high need to suck and I just couldn't spare my breast for the whole entire day, so we had to give him a pacifier. He never had a problem using this pacifier then nursing on me.
Don't use if your baby has teeth! August 2, 2007 S. Gray (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son immediately took to the soothie pacifier in the hospital. So much so that he would not take another pacifier after being on the soothie for just two days! I thought, great he loves his pacifier and it keeps him happy! My son is now 15 months old and is still attached to his soothie pacifier. I have recently noticed after looking at my sons teeth and the teeth of other children who use the soothie, that his palette and teeth are growing improperly. I was concerned so I went to the soothie website and it states that the soothie pacifier is designed to be used for children WITHOUT teeth. So take precaution before you get your child hooked on the soothie. I am now faced with changing my sons pacifier after him being attached to it for 15 months. The hospitals should tell us that they should not be used for children with teeth!!!
Only Pacifier My Twins Will Take! January 11, 2007 N. Salomon (Brooklyn, NY United States) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
My twin daughter really needed a pacifier as she was chewing her clothing and this was the only one she would take and she loves it! The only con is that it has no handle.
