The Baby Trend travel system is designed for safety and ease of use. The myriad features like the adjustable seat back (to grow with your child), one-handed folding, extra-large basket, and child and parent trays are only a few examples. The travel system includes three pieces: Baby Trend stroller Its larger front and rear wheels are able to handle rough terrain, although we agreed that the "Euro-styling" strictly pertained to the aesthetics. The canopy is large and can shield the baby from all angles. The child's tray swings or can be removed, and the parents' tray is fairly standard. The stow basket is indeed oversized and proved quite useful. Flex-Loc infant car seat and base It includes the stay-in-car base with an adjustable level indicator and expanded polystyrene (EPS) head impact protection that exceeds federal requirements. The three-way grip can be handled at almost every angle, and the canopy does a good job at protecting the child. The five-point harness keeps baby secure and comfortable, while the car seat detaches from its base with the use of one hand. The Baby Trend travel system can seem slightly over-engineered as it is more sturdy than nimble. The metallic silver and lime are hip and anything but inconspicuous, but when you're pushing around a stroller, one can hardly stay under the radar. The infant car seat is designed for babies five to 22 pounds and up to 28.5 inches in length. --Scott Teal

Great travel system but could use improvement! November 21, 2004 CT (Orlando, Fl United States) 58 out of 60 found this review helpful
I absolutely LOVE the colors of this system!!!There is no other sytem out there like it that I have seen as far as colors go with the lime green... Anyway, The stroller rides great! The car seat latches on to it and it does not budge at all when hooked on! The stroller is easy to push with one hand using the triangle grip on handle, has a rotating canopy to cover baby at all angles, and folds easily. However it is a bit large and heavy- Mom's looking for a lightweight system may want to try a different one. Also the basket on the stroller pulls down like the ones on the graco quattro strollers but not as easily. On this system you pull out on the basket and then down to get it to go and it seems if you do not grab in just the right spot it is not that easy to get it to fold down. Once you figure out though where that "spot" is, it is very easy to do every time. The main complaint I have with the stroller is the way the seat reclines. It has a strap with a buckle that you have to undo everytime you want to recline the seat or raise it which is not a big deal at all BUT the strap itself is a pain in the neck to tighten or loosen to adjust the amount of recline. If you have the seat in an upright position and then want to recline it you can't just unbuckle the clasp (buckle) you have to actually unthread the strap partially from the buckle, loosen it up and then re-tighten it- you can't just pull on the strap or buckle to get it to loosen like most other strollers.... I tried more than one of this system because I thought it may have just been the one I had but they all did the same thing so I don't think I just have a defective one. It is the way it is made I guess. The car seat is great. Can't really find anything bad about it except I wish the crotch strap was able to be removed like in the old sytle latch loc seat to wash it but I guess it can be done attached to the seat so no biggie. Just thought I would mention it so people would know... I do not like the base of the car seat. I wish they had kept the old style base. The car seat base no longer is weighted, nor does it have the rigid LATCH system anymore either. I thought it was much more secure in the car with the old style base. It did not move an inch or even a centimeter! The new style base is very similar to the graco snugride base but the LATCH connectors are a bit different. This base seems to move a bit too much for my liking. Maybe it is just my car? You need to try it for yourself though in your car as all vehicles are different and not all styles of seats/bases fit every car... All in all though I don't think it is a bad system. I feel it is safe and attractive too!
I've never found a better travel system! January 10, 2005 Amy Crystal Safford (Phoenix, AZ) 16 out of 22 found this review helpful
Everything about this system is wonderful! The colors are fabulous, it stears like a dream, and it's pretty easy to close up and store. I've used others in the past and none were as great as this one!
Great system February 22, 2005 amylou (colorado) 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
I agree with the other reviews. This is a great TS and the stroller does glide easily. I do have some advice though. Do not buy if you have a 2-door car like we do. The car seat release latch is at the foot of the seat unlike the graco that release from behind the head. It's practical for a four door car, more so than the graco release. I have to put it behind the passanger seat and climb in on the driver side so that I can get to the release bc you have to pull and lift from the foot. My car is too small (focus zx3) to put it in the middle or behind the driver seat. Like most newer cars it has the LATCH on the outer 2 seats and not in the middle. Also when you go to collasp the stroller you have to be so careful bc the tray will scrape on the ground which makes it awkward to close. The base isn't supposed to move more than an inch in any direction... but it does move more, a lot more. Especially from side to side. I can't say that I have seen it do that while I am driving mostly bc I try and keep my eyes on the road. The (buttons??) that you squeeze to lower the carry handle on the seat are difficult. You have to apply the squeeze on both sides perfectly or else the handle won't go down, which is frustrating when you have a crying baby and have to struggle with them. And getting frustrated doesn't help your snychronized squeeze reflex. The basket on the stroller holds quite a bit of stuff. Over all I do really like the system and Hailey seems to think it's okay too.
They have thought of everything! March 14, 2005 macysmom9 (Florida) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought this stroller this weekend after retiring my 3 month old Eddie Bower hunk of junk. When you see all of the bad things improved upon with this stroller, you will see they have thought of everything. The pics are not even as great as it is in real life! Very trendy, funky colors , which is very hard to find! The handle on the car seat is sturdy, centered and rubberized for easy grip. The canopy is also very sturdy and does not fall on top of the baby. The "crab claw" latches the base to the car are HEAVY DUTY, this baby is going no where! The wheels turn like the breeze and finally, this car seat fits in all shopping carts, the cosco brand did not. Very nice!
I love this system! July 26, 2005 Stephanie Mousseau (Cheyenne, WY USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
My husband and I chose this carseat and stroller after months of checking out other ones at stores like Target and Walmart and doing research. After 6 months of use, I'm sooo glad we got this one! The carseat has been awesome. I really like being able to tighten and loosen the straps using the one strap in front, instead of having to tweek them all individually. The harness clips are also alot less bulky than the ones I've seen on my friends' carseats...it doesn't look like my daughter is going to be strangled. This was important when she was brand new because she was born six weeks early and has always been small. The seat itself feels quite solid and the base is very secure; we don't have LATCH, either. One of the best parts is the fabric...it's super easy to clean and hides spit and drool much better than all the navy blue seats we looked at (it seemed like every other seat was navy or tan). The canopy on the seat is also super adjustable, so I don't even need to use window shades to keep the sun or wind out of her face. Combined with the stroller, it's quite weatherproof. The stroller is a bit bulky, but sturdy and easy to maneuver. I've found that it's easier to fold it up if the wheels are locked in place first. Overall, I'm very pleased with this system. If only I could find something equally as cool in a convertible seat... :-)
