Everybody's happy March 16, 2006 Heather Furr (Ocean Springs, MS USA) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
The first thing I liked about the seat was the looks, its design is better than a lot of the boosters out there, not too trendy or stupid looking. My daughter thought it was cool, so the chance of it being accepted and used for a while was high. I read some reviews and also looked at the jupiter Industries booster and the britax. We bought the britax and this one for both our cars and the britax head support seems cushier overall, but the Kobuk seems to have better side impact protection. A little pad comes with it to insert behind the headrest to make it softer. The belt has to be under the arm rests, which is a little awkward, but when you unbuckle your child, the belt stays with the seat better than the britax. Both are a little hard to buckle, but that is part of the safety feature, otherwise my child would be out of her seat all the time. I'm happy with both purchases, but I tend to use this booster more than the other.
Nice adjustable booster for small to medium sized kids. May 11, 2006 Mother of 3 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I bought this booster seat for by [...] son. I like the looks of it. It appears to be quite safe and comfortable. It is not too big so it fits nicely in my van. My only complaint is that the seat is narrow. My son is 60 pounds and 4 foot tall. His butt squeezes in to the seat and it is hard to work the seatbelt around him and under the arm rests. My [...] Eddie Bauer and my [...] Safety 1st both have a wider seat then this booster. If you child is large, don't pick this seat. If you child is petite this would be a great choice.
Fantastic Toddler Seat! November 4, 2006 Lynn Marie Tonelli (Hudson Valley, NY) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a terrific product. (Super)lightweight and easy to install. We cannot wait for our second child to grow into her own, because we'll gladly buy a second. One drawback is that it seems when my son falls asleep in it, he can tend to slump forward or awkwardly to the side and we have to make certain this means he doesn't slip his shoulder out from the topside of the seatbelt, so monitoring and performing minor adjustments in the back length of the seat are important to a good and safe fit of the seat to the child.
Happy With this Seat May 25, 2007 Leo Doll (Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We had tried a different booster seat (something decent from Target), which my son did not like and refused to sit in. He is pretyy picky, but he really likes this one. Pro's:The most important consideration for me when buying was that the seat be rated for side impact (this one is). It is also comfortable and well padded, (we have a recaro for the other car, which is great, but has little seat padding and hurts his butt). The design is cool, which helps getting a toddler to actually sit in it. It is very adjustable (height wise) and well ventilated (we live in Texas so that is pretty important). It is very lightweight if you need to transport it. Con's: since it tilts back, it does not lock, so you cannot carry it one-handed from the back like many other seats. Also, my son is not too wide, and if he wiggles the belt can slip off his shoulder. We generally pull the seatbelt out (slowly) to get it to lock, then let it slide back, so that he is not able to pull on it, and we rarely have any trouble with the belt sliding off his shoulder - that would be a very important consideration, since it means that the seat is working or not! This is also the reason I gave it 4 stars. (We pull the seatbelt out on both booster seats, since reading about the locking mechanism failing - a car related thing - and kids dying because the belt did not lock! Good to know)
This seat is acceptable, but Compass is better June 28, 2008 L. Liu (Silicon Valley, CA USA) I bought this seat a year ago along with a Compass Deluxe for our two cars. Pros: - lower price than Compass - stylish lines - removable back makes it easier for traveling (assuming your child is tall enough to use the backless mode) Cons: - after one year, the seams on the seat are starting to come apart - cup holder sticks out at an awkward angle and is not easily removable Overall, I would recommend the Compass over this one if it's your only booster seat. But if you need a second, cheaper one, this one is OK.
