Editorial Review
This is just smart. Despite it's overwhelmingly complicated name, the STOKKE KinderZeat, is a valuable transitional seating solution for kids who are too big (or think themselves too big) for a highchair but not yet ready for full-size kitchen chairs. Triangularly shaped, the chair features an adjustable seat and an adjustable foot rest so it can be tailored specifically to the needs of growing kids. The foot rest also functions as a sort of ladder rung so younger kids can climb up into the seat. What's remarkable about the KinderZeat, again besides the name, is how incredibly strong it is. The fact that it can withstand 300 pounds doesn't just mean Dad can jump up and down on it, it means that the chair can easily take all the punishment that high-impact kids routinely dish out. --Charlie Williams

5 out of 5 stars 25 years old and STILL a great chair!   January 22, 2004

My brother, who is now 26 years old, has one of these that he had from the time he was a wee one. It is the best chair that we've ever owned... much better than some plastic booster seat to put on a regular chair. Plus, since this is fully adjustable, we are still able to use it today ...for adults!

My husband and I will be buying one for our son in a few months, and I'm thrilled about the prospect of having one at our house!

5 out of 5 stars Best Zeat you can ever buy!   September 28, 2003

We bought the Stokke when we still lived in the Netherlands and we started using it as soon as our son was about six months old. In Europe they sell a infant-kit with the Stokke, sadly you can not buy one here and our hope is that they will start doing that really soon because we have eight month old twins and it puts us for a real big dillema for what to do without a stokke for them. But we have been using the Stokke KinderZeat for over 2 years now and I cannot say anything negative about it. Our son just loves his chair, he has always been part of our meals. He used it for crafts, playtime, just name it and it has been used for. It is truly worth every penny you put in it and to be honest I even like sitting on it!!!!

1 out of 5 stars The idea is good, but the product is dangerous   March 3, 2007

This chair is dangerous.

Sure, your kids are able to sit with you at the table. But there is nothing to prevent this chair from falling sideways or backwards. If your child bounces up and down, or pushes to turn around, or uses the table as leverage to push backwards or sideways, forget it, he's going down and the chair will slam into him. Both my kids have been injured with this chair, one of them quite seriously (ER trip, head injury).

Bottom line: Stick with the ugly plastic Peg Peregos, they're far safer due to the broader base.

5 out of 5 stars Great Idea! Great Chair!   November 30, 2004

I just purchased two of these chairs after seeing them online and reading the great reviews. I think they are a great idea. My older daughter is 4 and my younger is 18 months and this seat works great for both. I bought the seat cushions to go with them as well. I use the waist buckle with my younger daughter and it holds her in fine. It's the same type as the one in the plastic seat we were using. Now she can sit up at the table with the rest of the family. She liked it so much I could hardly get it put together before she was trying to climb up and sit on it. My older daughter likes hers as well. It's better than the soft booster seat we were using that would slide all around in the chair. I like the fact that it is easily adjustable to the right size. We should be able to use it for many years - even after the kids are grown since it holds up to 300 pounds. My husband thought it was a little pricey but personally I don't mind spending the money if I feel it is a worthwhile purchase which is how I feel about this chair.

5 out of 5 stars Best High Chair Ever   June 18, 2007

I purchased one of these in 1979 for my first born. All my children used it and to this day I still own it and use it as an extra chair at the table for guest. When they state "that it grows with your child", they are right on the money. I have given these as gifts to other parents and they too have loved them. You money is very well spent on this product. Worth every penny.
