Quality product, but just too bulky for everyday use July 14, 2006 E. Roberts (Boston, MA USA) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
My review concerns the 2005 Zippy. I don't see many differences in the 2006 model, so I think this review still applies. Here goes... PROS: 1. Very easy to assemble 2. Stylish 3. Feels very sturdy -- you can tell it's a quality product CONS: 1. HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY -- I find it to be an absolute pain to get in and out of the car. 2. Difficult to steer -- my daughter is only 17 lbs and when I'm pushing her around in the Zippy I feel like I'm pushing a shopping cart full of groceries. 3. The basket is small and inaccessible. 4. Bulky when folded -- takes up a ton of room in the trunk of my car. 5. Pretty darn expensive for what you get. Would I buy this stroller again? Probably not. I did a lot of research before buying my stroller, and I really thought it was the best fit for my needs. It's great for walks around the neighborhood in all kinds of weather, but I think $300+ is a heck of a lot of money to spend on a stroller you would only use for walks. I've tried and tried to give this stroller a chance, but every time I use it I'm disappointed. I've just switched to a MUCH cheaper lightweight stroller, and I couldn't be happier. Alas, the Zippy is collecting dust in the corner.
the best! top marks! November 22, 2006 I'm aReviewer (Boston, MA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
From the research involved in choosing a stroller for our daughter it seemed as if we were preparing to write a thesis to receive our Phd. The amount of road testing, pouring over reviews and time spent comparing ALL travel systems/strollers/car seats as well as prioritizing all of their different feaures etc. left us 100% exhausted. But I'm happy to report we got a winner! The 2006 Zippy stroller is by far the best stroller out there. It gets an A+ rating from me. Here is why: 1. one hand fold -truly, pull the lever and poof! instant folded stroller 2. full recline 3. adjustable backrest 4. great ride (large wheels, and no, there is no kicking them by accident while walking). Handles beautifully. Easy to steer 5. stylish. Great colors 6. best quality, durability and function 7. snack tray, extended canopy, cup holder, shopping basket There are some minor disadvantages: 1. small shopping basket 2. weighs 17lbs. (marginal weight concerne here) 3. doesn't fold as compact as other strollers 4. pricey All in all, you can't go wrong with this stroller and its compass companion car seat travel system. As I said, the disadvantages... I found to be minor. The zippy Ingelsina stroller is a winner.
GREAT FROM THE INSIDE OUT September 22, 2006 Erin (OC, California) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought my Zippy a little over a year ago and was hesitant to spend the money at first. However, I am very pleased with the quality of the ride for my child and how it handles. This is my 3rd stroller and favorite by far. It looks great and sporty. It handles like a champ AND it does fold with just ONE HAND! Many claim to, but the ZIPPY really has a great folding system. It feels VERY well made. I am sure that I will get a lot of use out of it, and I will save it for the next baby!
Handy, sturdy, but feet kick the wheels September 9, 2006 A. Rafferty (Jersey City, NJ USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
i have last year's model and altho i love the stroller in every other way my feet occasionally kick the wheels and on a long walk i unconsciously compensate so by the end i look like i shd be swinging from a bell tower. I love the one hand close/open and it will take a lot of punishment (we used it on steep rocky mountain trails in a state forest) but unless u walk like a fashion model you will from time to time be kicking the back wheels.
Great all-purpose stroller December 23, 2006 B. Martin (Austin, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought my Zippy for my first child in 2004 and love it. It is a great all-purpose stroller- able to be used with an infant seat strapped on top when they are little to a great toddler stroller. And it is so easy to fold up and throw in the car. It's just right if you only want to buy 1 stroller for your child over the early years. By the time he was out of the Zippy, he was done with strollers overall.
