Not worth the price - old Duo Glider better in many ways April 5, 2007 Eric (Milwaukee, WI United States) 63 out of 76 found this review helpful
We just got out Quatro Duo Tour this week, to add to our Gracos old Duo Glider and our newer single Quattro tour stroller. I of course waited for weeks for it to come in stock, thinking this was "mac daddy" for double strollers. My wife jokingly called me a big dork...but now I feel like one! The Duo has some nice features, but actually offers nothing better than the Duoglider offers. Mainly, the front cup holders do not have to be removed to put a toddler in the seat like the Glider does. That's it. Pushing this stroller you see and feel BIG. REALLY BIG. We love the handlebars, and it handles ok. Folding and traveling with the Duo is where things turn BAD. On the box it says "20% more compact". HUH? More compact than what? A mini tank? The Duo tour, when folded and placed side by side with the Glider is at least 6-8" TALLER and a little heavier. I had double and triple check it was folded all the way down cause I was shocked. The old Glider can be tossed around and placed in my 2004 Accord trunk with ease and room to spare. The Duo on the other hand takes up my ENTIRE trunk, and even requires smooshing the top down. This unit is also VERY awkward to pick up and handle when folded cause its so big. This is NOT an improvement from the Glider and NOT worth $230. It does all the same things the old Glider does, nothing more. I should have bought another Glider and saved big money. (Or drop the price to $190!) In a nut shell, in my oppinion, the Duo Tour is comparable to buying a large luxury car. Where the standard model works fine, this one looks nicer, has a higher price tag, and is MUCH bigger and heavier.
Like even better than the Duo Glider April 11, 2007 Jennifer Schrank 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
I was a little nervous about preordering this without seeing it but decided to take the chance. I had the Graco Duo Glider with my first two children which served us well. I gave it away to someone who really needed it and then found I pregnant again! Therefore, I was planning to get the Duo Glider again and then saw this one. This is much more stylish than the Duo Glider and compared to the Duo Glider we had, better features such as: -two cup holders for the parents, fanny pack attachment for other things -basket that can be accessed while infant seat in recline -cup holders for the front toddler seat (rather than the tray that I had to always open and close for my toddler) so he can just get in and out easily -shocks on the wheels for more comfort (my husband thought this was cool) - window that can be opened to see into infant seat from above -storage tray for toddler items under his seat -better handles for parents Overall, I really like it and like it even better than the Duo Glider. I was prepared for the weight of the stroller because the Duo Glider is also somewhat heavy. However, I had no problem with the weight of the Duo Glider getting it in and out and the Quattro Duo is comparable in weight. Therefore, if you realize a double stroller is not going to be light, it really is not extraordinarily heavy (and I am no body builder!). Lastly, I need to comment about Amazon's awesome customer service. Our stroller came to us damaged (the first ever from the many things we have ordered from Amazon) Since I had never returned anything to Amazon, I thought I had to contact Graco for a replacement. Graco's return process was less than stellar...wait 7-10 business days for a return label, then when they receive the damaged stroller they would send out a new one BUT could not even guarantee you would get the same color of stroller you had ordered! After a few days of waiting for the return label, I thought I should at least contact Amazon and see what they could do. So I called them today and they immediately ordered a new stroller to be sent out (ordered today- will get on Monday or Tuesday!!) and are arranging for UPS to pick up the damaged one from my doorstep while the other one is in transit! Obviously, I wish I had called them initially. Thank you Amazon for great customer service!
Best double out there! March 31, 2007 M. Kotsopodis (North Beach, MD) 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
I just recieved my stroller yesterday and I am in absolute LOVE with it. It folds up easily and is very compact when folded up, a LOT smaller than the Duo Glider, which barely fit in the back of Jeep Grand Cherokee. I love the fact that the back seat can be turned into a carriage type thing so the little one can lay down, it creates an enclosed space so they can't fall out. I love the fact that it has TWO sunshades which are actually way bigger than the picture shows. It handles like a dream! Even better than my single Quattro Tour. It was easy to put together as well, took around 10 minutes. My toddler loves is, the front seat is great for her because she can climb in and out of it on her own. I love the cup holders for the front seat and the handles because I can hang things off it (like sand pails and bags). I just wish this one came with a warm weather boot and a temperature tracker with the time as well. Oh well! Definitely the BEST double stroller out there, and the nicest looking as well. My husband didn't mind pushing it around.
Best Stroller Ever - Well Worth the Wait!!!!!! April 21, 2007 L. Sullivan (Maywood, NJ) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have never been so excited about a new gadget. Put it together in ten minutes with the assitance of my very excited toddler. I was getting very impatient waiting for this stroller to come on the market, but couldn't be more pleased that I did. I had researched them all and was going to buy it sight unseen, which made me nervous. Went to a local retailer yesterday and after an instore test drive with my almost 3yr old and my 3 month old bought it immediately. I can't say enough great things about this stroller. Especially as a mom of toddler and infant. It handles like a dream all the bells and whistles are fabulous. Folds like a piece of cake. Which I can't say about my perego. The basket drops down so you can access it without changing the rear seat position. My 3yr old thinks it is the coolest thing ever and she loves the fact that her baby sister is right behind her. Yes it is a little heavy, but I am a small woman and can manage just fine. After all my oldest weighs 28lbs. It is a little longer in person than in the photos - (no big deal) We all went for our first family stroll after dinner last night it was amazing. Handles fantastically over bumpy sidewalks - no need to prop up the srtoller to get over a bump. So STURDY - feel like both my girls are snug and safe. Love that the five point harness is attached to the seat, unlike the perego. Really if you have to children (particularly a baby and toddler) this is the way to go!!!
I'm so glad I waited!! I love this stroller! April 8, 2007 J. Lufkin (Philadelphia, PA) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have been in the market for a double stroller for a while, my kids are 2 1/2 and 7 months. I previously purchased an older duoglider from a garage sale and hated it. I did the research, then visited the stores for a test drive. I decided I wanted a side by side umbrella type, because it would have a smaller fold and weighed less. I was willing to compromise on the storage and other extras because I was trying to save money. I tried the Combi twin and the Jeep (because of the low cost). I seriously considered ordering the Chicco Citta Twin (sight unseen) because of the storage, lower price and good reviews online. However my wise husband pointed out that I really like having the large storage underneath and cupholders on my single Graco. He also reminded me that if I'm going to spend the money I should get something that I love, not something that will just make do. He test drove the Graco DuoGlider (the Quattro Tour wasn't available yet) and said I should get that one instead. I agreed and almost bought it then (end of March) but decided to do some more research and get the best price online. My first reaction to the new Quattro Tour Duo was negative and dismissive. I thought it looked too trendy or futuristic and the price was more than I thought I should be spending. Still I waited and read the trickle of reviews, mostly positive. At some point I talked myself into getting the Quattro Tour Duo Stroller and I'm so glad I did. I purchased it from a local baby specialty store. They had 4 arrive and 4 people on the waiting list. People can't wait to get this thing... and I have one!! This is such a Mom Moment but it's like having a shiny new car and wanting to show it off. My older son loves to climb in and out of the front seat. He sat in it for an hour eating snacks from the snack cup and having some fantastic pretend adventure. Here's what to expect: PROs -Easy to assemble. -Truly a one-handed fold, with secure latch so it stays folded when your lifting it. -Ample storage. -Cup holders for everyone!! One for each parent if needed. -Versatile handbars. Suited for me (5'2") or my husband (6'2"). The vertical handles help when lifting. -Material is easy to clean. -Drives very smoothly. Easy turning. I don't have to put my weight behind it to make it move. -Fits easily in my Sienna- it takes up 1/2 of the rear storage area when folded and standing upright. I still have plenty of room for groceries. -Rear child sits slightly higher than front (think stadium seating). -Rear snack tray lifts for ease of getting child in or out. CONs -Heavy (And it should be, it's a double stroller. It's sturdy and I don't have to worry about my kids' safety). -Front cup/snack holders are hard to remove for washing. -The seat belts aren't anything special. I really liked the T-shaped padded seat belt on my single Graco. -Pay special attention when applying brake, make sure it's locked before the front child climbs out. Bottomline: Take my husband's advice "If you're going to spend the money, get something you love and not something that will just make do". I love this stroller!
