In a relatively new concept in teething, The First Years introduces this massaging action teether. The concept is really quite simple: offer even the youngest infants a means to massage their gums at will. The massaging action increases circulation, thereby helping to alleviate swelling and discomfort. This soft, yellow, star-shaped teether has a smiling face and three nubby points that vibrate when a child bites down on them. The star sits upon an oversized blue plastic handle that's easy for even the youngest child to grasp. There's also an opening at the bottom of the handle that accepts a toy strap. The star rattle is surface washable and is powered by a nonreplaceable battery that's sealed inside the teether's handle for maximum safety. --Tami Horiuchi

My son has been teething for 3 months (he is 7 months old) and he got this teether from his mom-mom and pop-pop for Christmas and it has been a lifesaver. It took him a few days to get used to the vibration of the teether but now he loves it. It also makes a great toy for him!

Our daughter loved this teether more than anything else. However it quickly quit working and since the batteries were not replaceable there was nothing we could do. The manufacturer says it will replace it with a store receipt, but it was a gift so no luck. Since then I've tried several out in stores and none of them worked. Also, water does get into the toy when it is washed, which is a big drawback. Too bad, because our daughter really loved the vibrating action on her gums.

I got this for my son when he was about 8 months. he loved bitting it and he carry it all over the house. He is now 18 months and it still works plus he still bits on it too. I found it very easy to clean too.
