I have a three year old who recently had a fever for a week. We had a thermometer we've used since he was born and take rectal temperatures since they are the most accurate. Our old thermometer had a ridge you had to stop at when inserting the thermometer. usually this isn't a problem but our son got very upset after a few days of taking his temperature and it was hard to keep the thermometer in at the correct place. We bought this thermometer during his illness and it made a real difference. The handle gets very wide and you insert the thermometer up to this area. There's no guessing and is easy to use on a wiggling kid. It was accurate, fast and easy to use.
