Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
While potty training can be challenging, the Safety 1st Potty 'n Step Stool makes the learning process easier-for both toddler and parent. This 3-in-1 item is a potty, trainer seat and step stool. The colorful potty-seafoam green, purple, yellow and white-features a comfortable, contoured seat, a removable bowl for easy cleaning, a removable deflector shield for boys, a flip-up lid and built-in handles. Keep the lid down and the potty becomes a step stool, complete with rubber safety floor grips for stability. Remove seat and place on adult toilet and it becomes a trainer seat. Includes Potty Training Guide. 18 mos. and over. Made in USA. 10-1/2Hx13-1/2Wx14-1/2L.

Editorial Review
This potty is exceptionally sturdy and comes assembled for use as a standalone potty out of the box. Simply open the lid (and snap the front shield into place if it's being used by a boy), then tilt the seat up to reveal the bowl; it slides out for easy cleaning. When your child is ready, you can remove the seat for use on the toilet, and the arms provide extra security. Once the seat is removed, you can flip the base out to form a step stool. Included is a booklet with tips on potty training in English, Spanish, and French. --Terri Shea

4 out of 5 stars Potty will last forever   October 30, 2008
Brian Loog (Pearland, TX)
We are on our third child with this potty. My oldest child is thirteen. It obiously has moved around and been in and out of storage. It's been easy to attach and use on the stool and the toilet. It has maintained it's durability all these years.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent pot for girls   April 16, 2008
Reni (Washington, D.C.)
I have a girl, so I guess that is why my review is different from the other moms. I started training my daughter at thirteen months, and sat her on the pot regularly. The baby turned two last week, and now she is 99 percent trained. I started her by putting the attachment on my toilet until she got used to it, but now she prefers using just the pot since it sits on the floor. She goes alone, and even tries to empty it lol, but more importantly this is a very good pot. I am going to try to persuade her to let me put the attachment back on the regular toilet, and that way she can start using the step stool (which comes with it) to get up there. I believe by now she doesn't mind using the same type of toilet that mommy does.

Again, I guess it's only great for girls..........I totally understand the moms of boys point because of the little so-called guard for the boys.

Also, to the mom who said it needs more features. Remember, you have to read to the baby, and sing and do other things to keep him or her laughing.

1 out of 5 stars Not a good potty for boys!   February 10, 2007

I bought this for my then 13 month old son. From the first day I brought it home until now my son doesn't look at it like a potty but a toy. He flips down the lid and stands on it. He pulls the splashguard off very easily and walks around the house with it. It tips easily and is just poorly made. I would definitely recommend the baby bjorn potty instead. Its very sturdy, comes in great colors, and only has 2 parts to it. It also has a splashguard that isn't removable.

1 out of 5 stars Poorly Made. Get something else!   December 19, 2006

I bought it and attempted to assemble this potty. The four grips that supposedly anchors the seat cover did not fit the potty and the fit and finish were dismal. So, I returned it. This potty looked great from the picture but is poorly made and the parts did not fit at all. You are better off with another potty.

1 out of 5 stars Not designed well   December 1, 2006

We tried....and my daughter who is really taking to potty training keeps getting hit in the back with the seat lid while going. Plus the seat is so light weight, it keeps tipping forward while she tries to get up off the potty. (she isn't a big girl, so it isn't her weight causing the problem) I am looking for another seat tonight.
