Editorial Review Shapes, colors, animals, and music come together in this match-and-sort game. Four animals sit on the roof of the wheeled ark. After a child selects one of the game modes (Shapes, Colors, Animals) from the captain's wheel and touches one of the animals, she will hear a voice suggesting, "Let's find the yellow circle" or "Find the red star" or "Find the seal on the triangle." The big plastic shapes, each with an easy-to-grip animal "handle," fit into the matching shaped openings in the roof. When properly matched, the shape can be pushed into and through the opening; the child hears the shape, color, or animal identify itself. Shapes store in the ship's hold, which has a neat side-drop cargo door. The set has an automatic shutoff, a high-low volume switch, and a built-in carrying handle. Three AAA demonstration batteries are included. --Ava Natov

Nice toy, bad design January 16, 2001 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
This toy is fun and educational, but there are two things that I've found to be in bad design. 1. The door to the ark falls off with a little help of my 1 year old and 2. My kids' fingers get pinched when they are trying to retrieve the pieces that get stuck inside.
Great for Learning! November 25, 2000 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
This is a short review :0).... I think that this is a wonderful toy! Bought it for my daughter who will be 2 in January. She loves having her hand at fitting the shapes and pushing the cute boat! Great gift!
fun, but some design flaws January 18, 2001 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
My son, who will be 2 in March, just loves this toy! For a shape sorter, the added feature of the animal sounds is what keeps him coming back to it. Some problems with it are: the door on the hatch where you retrieve the shapes comes off, it is probably taken off as a way to get the pieces out because they are hard to get out of the ship, especially the round, yellow, lion piece. Also, my son has had his hand stuck in the round hole where the shape is supposed to go.
Great for 15 months! March 11, 2001 latanya (dayton) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
My son received this gift for Xmas and continues to hunt for it in his toy box - he loves it, but does have difficulty putting the blocks in. Not only does he enjoy this toy, mom does too because I can hear a variety of things and not just a song. My son, loves trying to repeat what's said! This toy is a "keeper"
It's a sinker.... March 9, 2001 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
My daughter recieved this toy as a christmas present and I thought she would love it. But, she won't even give it a second look. First of all, the pieces do not fit in it very well and I think she gets a little frustrated with it. Secondly, I can't find a volume switch! Those toys that come with a volume switch are wonderful!
