Best walker ever!!! November 2, 2007 Northwoods Mom (MN) 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
Words won't even be able to fully describe how much I (and my son) love this walker! I was very hesitant to buy it because at the time there were no reviews for it, and therefor I was worried it was a generic, unpopular product. Well, as it turns out, even if it is, I'm glad I bought it! I first put my son in this walker at just before 5 months, and within a week he was already cruising around the living room. I (and my doctor) wouldn't recommend this if there are stairs nearby or uneven surfaces, but because in our house he's pretty much trapped in the living room, she said it was ok. (We don't even use the "brake pads" that came with it, because there's a 1" lip going onto the tile in the next room that he can't get over, but I have tried them out, and they do stop the walker in its tracks when it starts to ride over uneven surfaces.) Movement: We've got hardwood floors, and what I think I love most is how quietly and smoothly this walker glides around on top of it. It's so easy for my son to propel across the room, he just has a blast in it. Its first seat height is nice and low, so it's easy for him to reach the floor, but there are 2 more height levels beyond that. The activity center, or "dashboard", is a riot. I may have had as much fun as my son the first time I messed around with it. His first time in it he went nuts hitting all the buttons, pushing the shifter and turning the steering wheel. There's a key that when turned to one position, makes all the buttons make animal sounds, but when turned the other way, makes the buttons play songs. That's another one of my favorite attributes of this walker--all of the songs are really cool, jazzy versions of common tunes, like the ABC's, she'll be comin' round the mountain, when the saints go marching in, and several more. You don't get sick of it like you so easily do with other toys that play boring versions of the same song. The steering wheel has a horn, and makes "traffic"-like sounds when it is turned either way. The shifter is a comfy size for his little hand, and it makes revving sounds when pushed forward and screeching brake noises when pulled back...so funny. And then of course there are dashboard lights along top, just above the steering wheel, that light up everytime a button is pushed or a song is playing. Storage: The metal crossbar frame folds down so the walker lays nearly flat. Very nice for tucking away or leaning up against the wall out of the way. In summary, I would say its ease of motion and ability to keep my son happy for long periods of time are its best qualities. I also really do love the fact that it plays such fun versions of all its songs. I can hear them all day and NOT want to pull my ears off of my head. If you want something that will genuinly entertain your baby, I would say the extra cost of this walker over others is well worth it. Especially for how much use they'll get out of it and all the FREEDOM you'll get!! Hopefully your child loves it as much as mine has!!
So much fun for our little one! February 8, 2008 HelloJFK (Santa Fe, NM) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We originally did not think that we wanted to get a walker for our new son based on all of the safety concerns out there -- we are very glad that we changed our minds! (We don't have any stairs in our house whatsoever.) This walker is great and provides our little one with hours of entertainment. The buttons are so fun for him to push, and he just LOVES being able to move around on his own. Our son is only 5 months old and is already getting lots of enjoyment out of this, even though he can barely reach the ground yet. We foresee many more months of use for this walker and we couldn't be more satisfied. It seems very, very safe too. I've never had a moment of concern.
Best Walker out there! February 13, 2008 J. Piotrowski (Chicago) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We looked at many walkers before purchasing this one. The Chicco brand Little Driver is the BEST walker - durable, high quality, easy to assemble, I could go on and on. MOST important...my son LOVES it. He finally has freedom to roam and he follows me everywhere! It is so cute. The nice thing is that because of the frame around him, it keeps a lot of things out of reach. We have bookshelves with books/pictures ect and he pulls right up to them and can look, but not reach/touch! The music is adorable and the lights are cool too! Its like his own little car. The wheels move very easily which is a lot different from others on the market. Walkers are only unsafe if used unsupervised! As with any toy, you have to watch your child in order to be safe! and if you have stairs - make sure to spend the extra $$ on some SAFE gates! Highly reccommend this walker!!
Great walker March 18, 2008 Lisa Leighton (St. Petersburg, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this product for my 8 month son. I found it was quite easy to put together and get him into. He really enjoys being able to scoot around the house in it, and I have really enjoyed having an entertaining place to put him down. I have found the songs and sounds that come with it are fun and haven't made me crazy yet. I think it is a great product at a good price.
Our 7-month old LOVES this walker April 6, 2008 OceanGal (FPO, AP United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this walker for our then-7 month old so he could start strengthening his legs a bit more, and within a few weeks he is now taking real steps in it! The whole theme of this walker is terrific- the sounds aren't annoying and we love the option of animal sounds vs. music. He has become great at turning the key to change these modes, beeping the horn, and pressing the buttons. He seems very comfortable in it and it's easy to change the height. We use it on our kitchen floor because most of the house is carpeted, unfortunately. That's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars- the only drawback to this walker is if you have carpet- it does not slide very well because the brake pads catch on the carpet. I could try taking them off I suppose to see if it glides more on carpet without the pads. And maybe when he has more walking skills he will be able to move more efficiently on carpet because it does require a lot more work! I could see the walker being outstanding though in a floored home where the baby could cruise the length of whole rooms! :)
