great cloth, terrible cinch August 14, 2008 S. LALLY (Gerrish Island, Maine United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've been wearing "Original G" Grammicci's since long before they were called "Originals" and own more than twenty pair of shorts and long pants. They are the most comfortable pants money can buy and look better the longer you wear them (no dryer please). My wife's been buying them too. The new generation share the attributes of good cloth, good fit, looks great. But unlike the rugged cinched belt of the first generation, the latest offerings from Gramicci have a flimsy, slippery cinch belt. I wore my new shorts ONCE and the cinch came apart and ripped through (I am 6' tall, 180 lbs, w/ a 33" waist). NONE of the others will stay up because the belt will not cinch: it's too thin, too low-grade, too slippery. I now own six pair of "next generation" Gramiccis, which I ordered in one bunch, being confident of past performance. I can't wear any of them without them constantly falling down. Unless Gramicci replaces these belts, head for Mountain Hardware or some other quality vendor. These aren't worth it at ANY price.
Great pants ruined by cheap, lousy belt. September 21, 2008 S. C. Palmer (Philadelphia, PA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Gramicci used to make a great product. They still make great pants - comfortable, well-made, and perfect for a nice long scooter ride. Unfortunately, they recently replaced their web belting with new, cheap, slippery belting that will not - seriously will not - stay in place and hold up your pants. Pure idiocy - they saved a few pennies on belts and now the product is not worth the cost. DO NOT BUY THESE PANTS UNTIL THEY FIX THE BELTING! I can give 95% odds that you will be disappointed in the product as is.
Comfortable. Casual. September 15, 2008 maiziell 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My husband has always liked Grammicci G pants. Good for knocking around the house and for casual wear (very) outside of the house. I've bought them for him for years and they are sometimes hard to find. What I read, and have found to be true, is that in the newer versions the waist to crotch (can I say that?) length is shorter. This sizing problem is remedied by buying a size larger than you normally would. These are well made and hold up to many washings. If you like this style these are an excellent choice.
Not the same quality of Gramicci October 23, 2008 T. L. Haesche (Chaplin, CT United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These pants are not typical Gramicci pants. I ordered them for my husband who has owned Gramicci pants for about 15 years - he's worn at least 5-7 pairs of these pants. The belt is very cheap and not the same material that they usually use - broke upon the first wearing! Luckily, Amazon made a return very easy, but we were very disappointed with Gramicci for the first time. Kind of sad.
slippery belt November 9, 2008 Mozart (Northwest) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nice fit, but the belt slips. And that is what's holding the pants up.
