The Best Learn-to-Swim Instruction for Children August 1, 2004

Waterproof Kids is essential for all parents who want to give their children the gift of being safe and comfortable around water as well as helping them learn to swim. With a strong emphasis on safety Ms. Anderson shows us step-by-step everything we need to know from introducing infants to water to teaching teenagers advanced swimming techniques.
After loving the water as an infant, my almost 4 year old son when through a phase of resisting going in the water at all and he especially hated getting his face and head wet. After seeing Waterproof Kids my son took an interest in the wonderful video footage of Gaylene demonstrating various strokes and showing infants going completely underwater. Now it's his favorite DVD.
Since being introduced to Waterproof Kids and seeing other kids learning to swim, he now loves "getting dunked" and doesn't mind getting his face and head wet at all. In the last three weeks since he's been watching Waterproof Kids, he's made more progress in learning how to swim than all the rest of his life. It may be designed for patents to teach their children to swim, but the real benefit has been from our son watching it and becoming inspired and motivated.
I am sure that we will use the different modules of the DVD as we progress through from toddler, young children and teens. It's a good thing that DVD's don't wear out because it's going to get used in our house a lot!
Gaylene is bright, energetic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and clearly loves what she does. Her positive energy is a delight. Give your kids and yourself a life-long gift of love for swimming. Get Waterproof Kids. You won't regret it!

I am a mother of two active boys. This DVD is a life-saver. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in water safety.
How many of us are sick of looking at huge bills for private swimming lessons that seem to leave our kids' minds as soon as they get in the water again? This way, we have the skills to teach them on our own, or to support what they are learning in their lessons.
I especially like the fact that there is a section on ocean safety.
Bravo, Ms. Anderson!

As the mother of seven children I can tell you that Gaylene Anderson is brilliant! She teaches in a way that is so positive, that it should make all parents feel confident to teach their child to swim. Gaylene demonstrates the kind of systematic teaching that is beneficial in really all parenting skills. Bravo to Ms. Anderson and here's to many more wonderful video's such as this one! Keep up the great work!

I am really impressed and glad I found this. The step by step approach, great examples of how to keep lessons fun, and really clear above and underwater video make this instructional DVD so helpful for parents. No matter what age or skill level, you'll see appropriate techniques to help gain confidence, progress, and enjoy the water. I'm giving a copy to my local library, so more kids can be strong, safe swimmers. I also think it would be a good present for new parents (much more useful and long lasting than other kid junk we receive).

My wife was sure we needed to pay for swim lessons. I bought this DVD, and my four-year old went from being a little nervous about blowing bubbles with his nose and mouth in the water, to going completely under water and getting his Spiderman diving sticks off the steps with no problem. In the past 3-4 weeks we have made about 8-10 trips to the Gym pool and he has learned so much. In addition to showing me what to teach, the DVD taught me be more patient, letting the skills emerge gradually. Ironically, in doing so he has learned much faster.
