Product Description purity made simple was created because it was our feeling that most cleansers were not getting the skin clean enough. furthermore, we do not believe you need a makeup remover and a toner to complete the cleansing process. most cleansers are formulated to foam, push around, and hopefully rinse away dirt and makeup. purity made simple was formulated to actually emulsify and dissolve dirt, imbedded debris, and makeup rather than creating a lot of foam without a lot of clean.

PURE AND SIMPLE! November 4, 2004 Gail Cooke (TX, USA) 59 out of 61 found this review helpful
Those toners, exfoliators, moisturizers, and cleansers used to not only take up a lot of room on my bathroom counter, but they cost me time and money. Time to apply each product for the desired effect, and very important to me, they cost dollars. Purity Made Simple is a true one-step cleanser. Just a small amount of Purity plus water thoroughly cleanses my face - removing all traces of makeup and deep cleaning pores. It hydrates skin while washing away makeup, and the natural oil extracts contained in the product help to condition. In the morning, while such a thorough cleansing isn't necessary, it's a great way to jump start the day, leaves skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated. Among Purity's ingredients are carrot, containing beta-carotene, an antioxidant that protects skin and encourages the growth of new cells. Coconut soothes, softens, and moisturizes, while black pepper has a deeply warming effect that detoxifies. There is also sandalwood which imparts a very subtle fragrance and is a wonderful hydrator. Love all natural ingredients! Purity not only saves you money, but it simplifies a beauty routine and leaves your face fresh and clean.
Best cleanser I've ever used. July 15, 2005 Jennifer Ortiz (Irvington, NJ United States) 43 out of 44 found this review helpful
I love this cleanser. It really works well. It removes eye makeup and mascara. I used to have to use several products to get all the makeup off. Now I only use Purity Made Simple. I would recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin. It doesn't dry out your skin, in fact, it feels moisturized and soft. You don't even need a toner. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Jennifer
I LOVE THIS CLEANSER!!! March 12, 2005 Reesie (Connecticut) 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
I normally am not one to write reviews on products, but this product is well worth writing one for. I am the type of girl who will stand in a store for a good while debating whether or not to buy an expensive product. I'm in college so money is pretty tight. Normally I always talk myself out of buying expensive stuff and opt for the less expensive products. I am sooo glad that I did not talk myself out of buying Philosophy's Purity. I have used so many different cleansers. I have sensitive, acne prone, combination skin. The last product I was using, Proactiv, was incredibly expensive and was not doing much but drying my face and causing my skin to break out even more. I had to use globs of cover-up to hide my pimples. One day while at Sephora, I came upon a small bottle of Purity by the check out counter. It sounded intreging and was only $10. I have been using that product for a month now. My face has completely cleared up. I don't even need to use any cover-up or foundation anymore! I've had random people compliment on how beautiful my skin is. Little do they know what it looked like just a month ago. After seeing the results of this product, I cancelled my membership with Proactiv. I use Purity twice a day. I don't need to use any makeup remover because Purity will gently remove everything (even waterproof mascera). I let my sister try it, and she immediatly went out and bought the largest bottle, and has discontinued proactiv as well. I know that buying new products can be frustrating, but even if you do what I did and buy the 3.5 oz sample bottle, I can almost promise that you will never want to use a different cleaser again.
Love it. Love it. Love it. December 6, 2005 C. Breedlove (Deep South) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have used so many cleansers in the past from Arbonne to Aveeno to Clinque to Lancome to Proactiv to Victoria Principal's line just to name a few. It's run the gamut from a few dollars to a hundred. It has now become a quest..a crusade to find a cleanser that takes dirt and makeup off. I have weird skin from scaly little patches on my cheeks/chin to large zitty looking hard nodules to large pores to redness. Quite frankly, I scared myself in the morning. The first time I used Purity a zit that was forming on my chin it went away overnight. My skin is so soft and the flaky scaly fish spots are gone without my prescription medicine. I am hooked. I'm going out to buy some philosophy hope in jar to see how it works. If you don't want to shell out money to try it, go to the philosophy counter and ask for samples.
Philosophy's "Purity" is not so Pure September 6, 2005 Carey (Central Florida) 12 out of 20 found this review helpful
I have red, acne prone, sensitive skin and this cleanser just made everything worse. My skin was red and irritated, and I broke out (with blemishes) within the first day of using this product. I'm sure it works on people who have normal, non-problematic skin...however, if your skin is anything like mine, I would not reccomend it. I recently switched to using the sensitive line of the Murad Acne Complex and it is by far the BEST acne product I have ever used. I would try the Murad complex instead.
