Best beard products available December 14, 2007 Matthew R. Faranda (Reading, PA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I love my beard and go to great lengths to make it look as good as I can while keeping down the inevitable itching. I first used Beardsley's shampoo, which has the great advantage of being lightly flavored should you get it into your mouth. But the draw back was that it left the skin under your beard just as dry as any regular shampoo, so although it's got a great gimmick, there's no difference in using any other shampoo. On the other hand Bluebeard's shampoo and beard saver, truly moisturizes and keeps down the itch. It even helps with ingrown hairs. Although you still will get some, it really cuts down on the number of them. Except when you first start using it, just as with an acne cream for example, it will cause a lot of the ingrown hairs to come to the surface. This is a fantastic product for those who really want to take care of their beards and ensure they look their best!
Pretty Good, but worth it? July 6, 2008 Jason Dunlap (Texas) I've recently let my beard go crazy, completely untrimmed for 2-3 months now. It was real coarse and curly and I was looking for something to get it to loosen up a bit. This hasn't really had that effect as much as I'd hoped, but it's much softer and easier to comb now. It also works great on the edges where I get random strands sticking out all over, tames it down a bunch. So overall I'm glad I got it, and I might buy it again, but it's a little bit expensive for how much you get. My beard is pretty large, so it takes a decent bit of this stuff to make a noticable difference. But once I've gone without it for a while, i'll probably decide it was worth it.
