This is a 9" diameter Celestial Sun and Moon hand painted by the Nahuas Mexican Indians. The painting style is that of a "Story"; it tells a story of daily life of the people in the villages. Since each piece is individually hand painted, the colors used and painting styles will vary with each piece. The photo is a representation of a typical style and the one you receive will be similar but never identical. The Nahuas Indians reside in the mountains of Chilpancingo and it is believed that the art of hand crafting and painting was past down to them by the Aztec Indians during the flight from the Spanish Conquistadors. They are true Aborigines Indians and live in traditional style. They do not speak English or Spanish, but only in their native language.
