Product Description The GX5203 is an outdoor wireless color camera system that can be hidden for undercover outdoor use. It comes with everything you need to start monitoring. The small but powerful bullet hole camera is wireless and features automatic night vision (CDS sensor). As soon as it gets dark the infrared LEDs will activate and provide you with a clear view of everything, even in complete darkness! Plus, this camera has a built-in microphone so you won''t miss a thing. This camera has been machined out of high grade aluminum and is packed full of quality components. The camera sends audio and video wirelessly to the handheld monitor, which has a 2.5" LCD screen for crystal clear viewing of your camera''s display. Or you can connect the monitor to your TV, VCR, DVR or computer for viewing and recording purposes. This system comes with one camera, but you can add 2 more SVAT compatible cameras, and the auto feature allows you to cycle between the cameras at intervals that you choose. This system is ideal for discreet monitoring in home or business settings due to its small size and wireless capabilities. The camera and monitor are both powered by AC adapters but are also battery operable for ultimate portability.

Works Great For Watching Wildlife November 21, 2007 bradybunch (Sparta, NJ) 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
I bought the GX5203 for viewing my driveway and entryway, both of which are not visible to most parts of the house. I ended up using the camera to view the deer and wildlife coming to a corn feeder I have set up in the woods behind my house. It works great! Granted, It is an unobstructed view (lineof sight) from the feeder to where I have the monitor, but is at least 200 feet away and the recepction is crystal clear. The night viewing is even better than the day viewing because of the infrared capability. I would recommend this to any one who needs to keep an eye on something they can't normally view.
Nice securtiy for me November 12, 2007 L. Youngblood (Newport WA USA) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought the SVAT GX5203 security system because the way my home is sitting I can not see the driveway nor the walkway to my house. It works great for that. At first I thought the monitor was not working very well but I realized I had to move it to get the reception just right and work around the microwave, cordless phone etc. I have it hooked to a 13 inch TV because I decided it was easier to see. But I do like the ablility to take the small monitor with me when I am busy in the back of the house. I do have to move it around a bit sometimes to get it to come in but I realized it depended on where I posistioned the monitor in relation to the camera. I have the camera mounted under the eaves outside. Also my cat chewed the electric cord the first week I had it and I wrote general support and recieved an answer by the next day and they very geneously offered to send a replacement cord. I am planning on buying another camera for my monitor. I think this is a great system for the price and I would recommend this product based on my experience with it.
Conflicts with other 2.4GHz devices September 4, 2008 Johnny Elizondo Ortiz (Albuquerque, NM) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I had a lot of interference problems using the SVAT GX5203, I noticed that as soon as I disconnected my cordless phone (Panasonic 2.4GHz) the problem was solved, moving the receiver and/or the phone to another location did not work, so I had to replace my phone with a newer DECT 6.0 and everything worked just well. The reception range is pretty good and the image quality is a bit under my expectations, sound is clear and the camera seems to be tough enough for outdoor usage. The fact that the batteries need to be removed to plug the AC/DC adapter is beyond my understanding.
Serves us well February 14, 2008 Frank Crump 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Interesting how different reviews can vary. I bought this unit because my wife couldn't see who was at the front door without approaching the door. So this combination of camera and monitor looked like it would do the trick. Once it arrived, I installed the unit and we were off and running. There were a few drawbacks: (1)had problems powering the camera with a battery, (2)power cord with camera limits your placement options. Once I figured out that the AC connections was in the battery compartment the monitor was all set. For long term use, the battery option really won't work too well. The monitor picture did have some interference lines but not enough to distort the picture. We didn't really care about the mic/volume so we turned it down. Overall, not a bad product that keeps the wife feeling secure and happy.
Acceptable Product for My Wireless System April 6, 2008 Gilman (Houston, TX) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
SVAT GX5203 Wireless Portable Video Security System 2.5-Inch LCD & Outdoor Night Vision Surveillance Camera I bought a GX5203 to monitor the front side of my house. It provides most features that I expected from a wireless system. The color screen is clear and the camera sound is audible. The installation is a snap and I don't even have to read the manual to make it running. The camera viewing angle of 69 degrees is acceptable. I wish they will add a motion detector to the camera as an improvement in the future.
