In general, the mount is fine, however, even though it looks like a see thru mount (meaning that you could still use your iron sights), it's not. It would probably work fine for a scope and other items, but 1/2 of the iron sight field of view on my DPMS is obstructed and the mount does not sit square on the carry handle, meaning that the limited amount of the front sight I can see, it off to the side. Since the ad on amazon did not specifically say "see thru", I'll not be returning the part as it's my fault for assuming the iron sights would still be functional with the mount is place... the take home leasson is, don't make assumptions.
