Great printer for the money..... July 17, 2007 Grumpy (Los Angeles, CA) 54 out of 56 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a high quality printer, keep looking. But, if you are looking for a good all-in-one printer with this price range, you will be happy with this. The printer is very easy to use & it is quiet. I recommend going to a store with your memory card & good quality photo paper. So, you will know exactly what your pictures look like. I am very happy with this HP & will recommend it.
Lots of features for a good price! July 6, 2007 D. Truster (Springfield, MO) 40 out of 40 found this review helpful
We just bought this to replace our old HP All-in-One. Printers have come a long way in just a couple years. It prints quietly and quickly with excellent quality. The CD/DVD printer option is a nice add-on not usully found in this price range. But the photo printer option is where this printer really excels. Pop in your memory card and the LCD screen will allow you to view, sort, and edit the photos on your disk. You can crop rotate and reduce red-eye, all on the printer itself. The photo quality isn't as good as a stand alone printer (I'm going to hold onto my Kodak Printer Dock for now) but it is certainly one of the better inkjets I've used. All-in-all, this printer does a lot for the $150 price tag!
Dont pass this one up!! August 14, 2007 Rudy Lopez (The Colony, TX) 35 out of 35 found this review helpful
My previous HP printer died...So, i was not really interested in another model of HP printer...but, this one received decent reviews, and I like the fact that it only take two cartridges (Very inexpensive $17.99 & $14.99 at office max) So, i took a chance....and boy, its OUTSTANDING SO FAR! One thing to consider when purchasing a printer, how many cartridges does it take? The price can really hit your budget if you do a lot of printing like i do. Also, If you get yourself a router you can set up a home network and attach several computers to it, i did! Pros - Quiet, very inexpensive cartridges, easy set up, bright crystal clear print jobs, and very sleek and attrative. Cons - No USB printer cable included (not a problem if your replacing an existing printer) all in all, very please so far, and i do use it often for personal and home office use. Highly recommended!
Don't Buy this Printer if you run MAC OS!! September 18, 2007 Greg Lasley (la-la-land) 23 out of 33 found this review helpful
I bought the Samsung CLP 300 Color Laser Printer to replace an HP C5280 that I returned after 3 weeks of use because HP's 'Mac Compatible' claim is a bald-faced lie. My Samsung doesn't have all the bells and whistles of this HP but anyone who is at all computer savvy should be able to accomplish many of the same tasks with much greater ease on the Samsung (sorry, no scanning or copying but that stuff is just a luxury to me). HP's C5280, which prints, scans, 'reads digital cameras', and has a ridiculous little LCD display... has VERY LIMITED Mac compatibility. Mine was buggy from the get-go. It did not have a printer specific driver for the Mac OS, and was incapable of printing directly onto CD's and DVD's as the packaging claimed. The printer would say 'Now Printing' when I wasn't printing anything; it would frequently print nothing but blank pages; the scanning software worked ONCE and was very poorly designed; and I kept getting these pop-ups from the HP Printer Messaging Software claiming that I had messages and when I went to view them... there weren't any. To top it all off, HP refuses to offer ANY SUPPORT to customers who use MAC OS's. Furthermore, the color photo prints on glossy paper that I made were lousy with magenta saturation. I've worked in IT and I have also worked as a printer repair man so I know my way around printers. In my opinion, the C5280 is junk. When I got to MicroCenter to return mine, there was a new HP printer up on the counter in front of me and one in a cart behind me in the 'Return Merchandise' line. As I was buying my CLP300, a guy in line with me asked me what I thought of Samsung printers and I told him I didn't know yet as I just purchased my first one to replace an HP and he angrily said he'd never buy another HP printer for as long as he lived. Anecdotal? Sure... but as a former computer professional, I've seen HP's quality drop significantly over the years and I can no longer recommend their products.
