Blank Surface September 15, 2005 R. Collins 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
These disks have a blank surface, so they are good if you like to write all over. The logo is just a silver logo on a silver background. They are just as good as any other disk, and I have written many movies in VCD and DivX form on these, and they all play fine. What the one reviewer means by scratchy playback is beyond me, CDs that are not physically scratched either work or they don't work. These work in all cases.
AWEFUL defect rate October 11, 2005 J. Donie (Cincinnati, OH USA) 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
I recently purchased a spindle of Verbatim CD-R's and I was extremely disappointed at the defect rate. Of the 50 CD's on the spindle, I've used 37 and 10 have been defective, meaning unusable. Some wouldn't write at all and some would get half way through the writing process and then create errors that caused the write process to terminate. Upon inspection, some of the CD's had visible defects in the reflective surface. I've been burning CD's for many years now and have NEVER had this high a reject rate, or anything close to it. I visited Verbatim's web site to give them a piece of my mind and was displeased to discover they have no customer feedback tool on their site. This was my first purchase of Verbatim CD's and it will be my last.
excellent quality and good value February 4, 2006 Jie Ma (Herndon, VA USA) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
use them to copy xrcd (known as the best CD media), and the sound is indistinguishable!
Slow but consistent. May 2, 2006 WWC 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
It took slightly over 9 minutes to burn 700mb data on each disc. I had previsouly used the Philips CD-R (52X, 700mb), and it takes less than 5 minutes. On the other hand, I have burned 25 Verbatim CDs in this spindle, and none has failed yet. I use a dell 710m laptop, so maybe this is burner dependent.
a excellent brand you can trust for CD-R February 19, 2006 Xiaobin Liu (Irvine, CA USA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I used this brand of CD-R for a long time and it is one of the my trust brand. No failure till now. I did not use them to write my audio CD, so I have no experience on that.
