5 out of 5 stars Great Bino Viewers   January 9, 2007

These William Optics Binoviewers are great especially at the price with the two high quality included wide angle eyepieces. They give very good views of all celestial objects that I have looked at. Uranus looked very nice in my ETX-125 Maksutov. Their weight is not very heavy but a counter balance is suggested for the ETX-125 but they will work without a counter balance. There is a slight bluish tint in some stellar objects which is due to the prisms. On Uranus this made Uranus look like a textbook picture. The moon and bright star clusters were nice without color. They are especially useful on double stars making the colors of the stars stand out. The moon was magnificent and the sun looked very good. I recommend them highly. The mechanical finish and design is excellent. Individual focusing is relatively easy but depends upon your eye sight as I found myself trying to make sure each focus was exact. This is easy on the moon but harder on faint objects. Your ability to adjust the inter pupilary distance takes some practice to get an exact circle and not and oval view or a figure "8" field of view and depends upon your placement of your eyes when viewing to avoid missing the full circular bino view. I would recommend this product especially at this cost. I use them often but also use a single eyepiece as usual. You will find them a worth while accessory. I would not suggest buying the extremely expensive bino viewers on the market as you will find that with binoviewers you only prefer them occasionally so since these are high quality ones at a very modest price I would suggest purchasing these first. If you ever feel the need to "upgrade" you will find no problem selling these units as they are an excellent buy.
