Editorial Reviews:

Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description
Draper's Luma projection screen is an attractive, dependable manual screen for the classroom or conference room. Ideal for small to medium-sized groups, this variation of the Luma screen features a fiberglass matte-white surface and offers a 120-inch diagonal viewing size (96 x 72 inches, W x H). The screen's standard 4:3 aspect ratio is well suited to computer presentations and projections of TV programs and many VHS and DVD releases, and its heavy-gauge endcaps form universal hanging brackets for attachment to a wall, ceiling, or map rail hooks.

The screen is housed in a friction-free enclosure. It's washable as well as being resistant to both mildew and flames. Its steel case and endcaps are finished in a scratch-resistant, white polyester. The endcaps feature integral roller brackets to conceal the roller ends and matching universal mounting brackets (mounting hardware not supplied). The screen's seamless fabric securely attaches to a 1-piece rigid steel roller, while the bottom of viewing surface is fixed to a weighted dowel.

You can mount the screen on a wall or suspend it from the ceiling or use extension brackets to suspend the screen several inches in front of a wall. The screen (or extension brackets) should be mounted into studs or blocking in the wall/ceiling, or in drywall.

The screen's reflective surface is laminated to a woven textile base, and the screen surface hangs suitably flat because of the stability of the material and the weight of the bottom dowel. Good for all types of projection, the Luma is most commonly used for single-lens video projection as well as for CRT video and data-graphics projection.

The screen's matte-white vinyl reflective surface is laminated to tear-resistant woven fiberglass. A matte-white surface diffuses projected light in all directions, so viewers can enjoy images seen from nearly any angle. The screen provides accurate color rendition and superior clarity.

Draper recommends the Luma for use with all high-light-output projection devices. The screen requires control of ambient light in the audience area.

What's in the Box
Screen (with steel case) and a user's manual with warranty information.

Note: Wall-mounting hardware is not included. You'll need different mounting gear depending on how you intend to mount it.

This Screen is 120in diagonaly. I have it paired with an Infocus X2 projector with 1600 Lumens and it works great unless there is direct light in the room.

No complaint with the product itself- except for: I received my screen beaten like a red-headed stepchild by the gorillas that handle the freight at the airports- EVIDENTLY. Rather than go through the BS of getting another one shipped, and/or such, I have chosen to repair what I had delivered and encase it in the same type of wood my built-in entertainment center is made of. I highly reccomend dealing with the manufacturer when ordering such as this. I also ordered a ceiling mount for my projector, but denied delivery of a replacement lamp for a different projector type. Amazon's WRONG. I'll be VERY, VERY cautious in utilizing this service ever again. I highly reccomend, once again, each individual manufacturer's website!

I got this screen for both outdoor and indoor viewing, and it has been excelant for both.
the picture is as bright and clear as any I've seen.
Outdoors the screen material is heavy enough to withstand a fair wind with very little distortion.
Over all I would recomend it to anyone who's looking for a great screen at a great price.

Excellent product! Does exactly what it's supposed to do so far (Approx 1 month of use). Have had no troubles with extending or retracting the screen and I got it at the incredibly low price of only $67.46 at that time.

It arrives in a 9' long triangular cartoon and as long as it is I can see where it could easily have been damaged in shipping but thankfully it managed to arrive in perfect condition.

Very happy with the purchase. And at that price it would be difficult if not impossible to make your own screen as I've seen so many do in order to save money.

5 out of 5 stars A great screen!   May 18, 2007

I wanted a simple manual pulldown screen, to go over a set of french doors in our living room. I also wanted something large - this is just about the only 120" 4:3 screen I could find. I was a little concerned at the low price, but in this case it just reflects a great value! The screen is exactly what I wanted. Easy to install with 2 anchored screws, and the pulldown mechanism works almost perfectly (it sometimes takes a couple of tries to get it to stay in the down position). The screen can be set to almost any position, so for 16:9 videos I pull it about 2/3 of the way down, or all the way for 4:3 TV style videos. It's a simple matte white plasticized finish, and is plenty bright with a good viewing angle. I would highly recommend this screen!
