Product Description The Pro Digital Zoom 9 is ideal for carrying a pro digital SLR with a 200mm zoom lens attached. Dual Foam Technology provides protection and a custom fit to pro digital SLRs. The front pocket features Tamrac's patented Memory & Battery Management System, which uses red flags to identify available memory cards and batteries. A smooth nylon accessory pocket in lid holds lens-cleaning paper. A belt loop in back quickly converts this Zoom Pak from a shoulder bag to a belt holster.

Camera Bag April 4, 2007 L. Jenkins 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I looked everywhere for a bag like this and this one fit the bill for what I needed. I have a digital rebel XT but with a battery pack on it. The battery pack makes it hard to find a camera bag where the camera fits lens down first in the bag. I just didn't realize how deep the camera bag had to be.....not long. My digital rebel XT w/battery pack and 70-200mm lens attached fits lens first into this bag with no room to spare. I was a little disappointed that it doesn't have a way to attach it to your waist. The descriptions lets you assume that it can be used like a fanny pack only in front. It does have some loops that you can clip onto but you will need your own clips and your own belt to put it on. I can't imagine what kind of belt that would be as the bag loaded is really heavy. Maybe an ammunition belt? Also, it doesn't stand up. The bottom of the bag is noticably smaller than the top of it. That's the only reason I gave it a four and not a five star. The bag is top quality and priced right. It will hold a smaller lens attached and one underneath that with padding between. I would buy it again though. It's great when you want to just carry your one camera/lens attached and maybe a couple flash cards. It does have a pocket in front but don't plan on carrying much in it. I have two cards and my charger in it.
Holster bag rocks December 3, 2007 DM (Seattle,WA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Tamrac 5629 Pro 9 Digital Zoom Camera Bag (Black) This bag is awsome, it can hold my 40D with a 100-400mmL zoom lens and a battery grip attached to the camera! It maintains a small profile even with such a large camera setup. Comfortable to carry too. No complaints.
Fits a lot of gear January 14, 2008 Carlton Ward (Portland, Or United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this for my Canon 20D with attached 100-400mm L lens. I turn the lens hood backwards and they slide right in. It holds a spare battery, couple of CF cards, lens cleaner, and remote shutter release with still a little space to spare. I have also attached another lens case for an additional lens and another case for my 580EX flash that attach to the sides of the holster and even a small case for filters & lens cleaner to the shoulder strap. I can carry this comfortably for short hikes (4-8 miles) and its a quick and easy way to carry gear for those pulling off the side of the road scenarios. Since adding the 40D and the 70-200mm f/2.8 to my arsenal, I will probably buy another one and will also look at going to the belt/harness system. I still use my Tamrac CyberPack 6 for long hikes and when I need to carry a lot of gear but this current configuration has been working for me for over a year now. I looked for quite a while before buying this and have never regretted my decision.
Nothing special May 16, 2007 Latchezar Hristov 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this item for my 30D. Unfortunately, it didn't fit the bill. Here's why: This bag is Ok for people that purchase a bag of that type for a first time or have a Sony Cybershot DSCR1 10.3MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom (or similar non-SLR with a huge lens). However, if one has a SLR and needs a complementary bag for his backpack when going on a short hike, chances are he would like taking more than one lens. Unfortunately this is not possible with this bag. Moreover, the ability to attach the bag to one's waist is very important - once again this is not possible with the Pro 9. As a result, a friend of mine got a free brand new bag for his Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 6MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilization Zoom and I am a happy owner of a Lowepro Off Trail 2 - Belt pack for camera - Ripstop - black. Unlike the product being reviewed, I use the Off Trail 2 daily. I can even ride my bike with it and still feel comfortable and secure - at the expense of extra caution, of course.
Great bag! Very roomy July 17, 2008 SL (Gaithersburg, MD) This bag will fit a Nikon D300 attached to a 70-200mm VR zoom lens. There is extra room in the front pocket for spare battery and memory cards. If I know this is the only camera set up I need, this is a perfect bag for it.
