Never Leaves Home Without It September 2, 2003 Kare Bear (CA United States) 118 out of 120 found this review helpful
Got this for my daughter 2nd birthday (about 3 months ago). Like many other little girls she has had a fascination with purses for a long time. She even had a real one she'd take out for a while. I had been waiting to find a better, more fun, (and safer) toy one. This one is fantastic! I love how it has all the essential contents of a purse. My daughter carries it on her arm when we go out. She pretends to put on the "lipstick" and even started "sliding" the "debit card" in between the keys of her toddler piano! I think any toy that encourages imaginative, pretend play is educational. And of course imitating Mommy is lots of fun and lets lttle ones feel grown up.
Best Purse Of All Time October 18, 2004 Nicole D. Bryson (Woodland, CA) 86 out of 87 found this review helpful
I bought this for my daughter when she was 16 months old and she just loved it! She takes the purse every where with her it's the perfect size and the pieces inside of it are big so you don't have to worry about them choking on it. I looked every where for a purse like this one, it has a lot of the same items my purse has so she likes to take her lipstick out when I do and pretend she's talking on the phone when I'm on mine. I added sunglass to it so she likes to carry those around in it too. Great gift for a little girl!
My 1-year old's favorite toy! October 29, 2003 45 out of 47 found this review helpful
My daughter received this for her first birthday and by far it was her favorite present! She was constantly taking my credit cards when we go out and now she has her own! She loves to look in the mirror and "put lipstick on". She carries this purse around the house all day long. Very safe - none of the toys seem breakable and none seem to be a choking hazard. I would highly recommend this for every 1-year old little girl who loves to play in mommy's purse.
Good Imitative Fun March 28, 2003 J. Davidson (TX) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
When my then 16 month old snagged my purse and scattered it's contents one too many times I bought her this purse, and she LOVES it! Four months later she still looks for it every time we leave the house. I would take the phone out for under three, it just looked like it make produce small parts if broken, but the rest is great. If you have a little one that wants to do everything mommy does, this toy is a sanity saver. My daughter loves having her very own purse, lipsick and keys- and she's stopped bugging me for mine (okay- she's cut back!). Bottom line: Good value, lots of fun.
Cute, But Nothing Special June 1, 2005 OrthodoxMama (Germantown, MD USA) 20 out of 27 found this review helpful
When my daughter first received this purse as a gift she carried it around constantly for a week and then pretty much forgot all about it. I think that its due to the fact that the contents of the purse are plastic junk. Although it was kind of cute to watch her try to swipe the credit card, I began to fear what this was teaching her about money and spending. Also, the lipstick comes apart, posing a choking hazard for younger kids. As cute as the lipstick was (it was perhaps the best part of the set) I ended up having to confiscate it. The purse set is probably an innocuous toy suitable for imaginary play and dress up, but I just feel that we owe our little girls a lot more credit in providing them with more challenging materials of play. Still, it is fun to do what mommy does, and this purse fulfills that purpose. I just gave my daughter more realistic items to carry around in it, such as old spare keys and a tin of lip balm (to be used under supervision). Alas, she still gets a kick out of the credit card, to my dismay. I intend to replace it with toy money when she's a bit older. The actual purse itself is cute and sturdy, thus will probably hold up well with a lot of play.
