The H-D50 FlipUp cap clips into place by slipping the original Nikon D50 eye piece up and off the camera. Next slide the H-D50 FlipUp cap over the eyepiece mounting flanges to cover the entire LCD screen. The cap provides protection for the delicate LCD screen when in closed position.

The Hoodman FlipUp cap installs in minutes and offers the perfect protection for the camera's LCD screen. The company offers various systems for all makes of digital SLR cameras. It is a welcome degree of protection for my photography gear.

I bought the H-D80 for my new Nikon D80 camera. The hinge pins on the side panels snapped right off the very first time I flipped it open, and no wonder -- turns out they are just tiny thin little plastic pins, even though this is an obvious stress point. This thing certainly isn't durable enough for day to day field use. Wasted my money!

It has worked quite well for the first month, and it appears to be made very well and that it will last a long time. While it does require opening it to see the screen, and then closing it to take the next photo, this is no bother to us. Installation is a snap. Quite satisfied with this.
