A great alternative to the more expensive Terrestrial DB-2 September 28, 2007 Riley Sheckler 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I ordered this antenna to go with my HD tv because it was the same design as the Terrestrial DB-2, but over twice as less and with free shipping. I am very pleased with this antenna. After hooking it up indoors and did the auto channel search, 42 channels came up. I deleted the analog ones and still had plenty of digital ones. Every channel had all the bars on the signal meter, except for two of them which had all the bars but one. The picture quality is awesome, it looks like cable and its all free! I also don't get any of those digital drop outs where the screen goes all blocky. I think this is a great antenna, and I'd recommend it to anyone!
Comment on TV reception January 4, 2008 RafaelAustin (Austin, TX) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Just a quick word on reception. This antenna is design to maximize UHF reception, channels 14-69. VHF is channels 2-13 and rabbit ears will actually do a better job of picking these up. Look up HDTVprimer web site and the will recommend: "Probably the best a renter can do is get a Channel Master 7777 amplifier, connect a DB-2 to its UHF input, and connect rabbit ears to its VHF input. If you are desperate to get a difficult VHF channel, get a 5-element single channel Yagi and suspend it a few inches below the room ceiling." The DTV2BUHF is a clone of the Antennas Direct DB2 and should have great results, but I've yet to find a detailed review of this model.
Very Pleased February 13, 2007 M. Kincaid 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I replaced my Zenith "silver sensor" antenna with this antenna and have been very happy so far. Signals come in 10-20% stronger than the Zenith when used indoor (have not tried mounting it outdoor yet). Overall, an excellent choice for an all-around compact antenna. Minus 1 star for not providing a stand or mast.
Great DTV antenna December 3, 2007 Chingas Lee (Tucson, AZ United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This antenna worked better than expected for it's size and price. Roof top mounted. It's wide beam width allowed reception from DTV stations at 136 to 188 degrees with no problem at a distance of 10 to 50 miles with 6-7 of 8 signal strength bars on DTV broadcast. Also worked good on analog broadcast. It also worked very well on a nearby hi-band VHF channel 13. This is a directional antenna so any stations on the back side will not be received. This worked better than my old 8-bay channel master. It is made for outdoor use but because of it's small size it could be used indoors.
Go buy some good old bunny ears October 2, 2007 S Cole (Meridian, ID USA) 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
After getting sick of our ugly 20+ year-old bunny ear antenna we decided to install an antenna in the attic for the whole house. After reading the other 2 reviews we thought this looked like it would work great. First, we directly plugged it into one of the TVs on our main floor. Reception was OK. All the major channels came in, but only half were really good. Then we directly plugged it into one of the TVs on the second story. All the major channels came in really good. So, we got excited thinking, "Hey this will work!" We took it to the attic where my husband and I had to use an intercom to help him place it "just so" for the best reception. We now had really good stations on all the TVs in the house (like we had when we directly plugged it into the upstairs TV), but we only got half of the HD channels available for our HD-ready TV on the main floor. Bummer! We had had bunny ears hooked up to the HD-ready TV originally and it got all but 1 HD channel, so in desperation I suggested my husband take the bunny ears antenna to the attic and plug it in instead of this fancy antenna. VOILA!!! Instantly (without having to maneuver it or place it 'just so') we get all channels perfectly on all TVs and all the HD channels available for our HD-ready TV. Long story short - Boy do we wish we had thought of this before and not wasted our money. We'll be throwing this item in the garbage... today!
