It features advanced Face Detection technology, which optimizes focus, exposure, and color for accurate reproduction of up to three faces. Face Detection technology automatically controls focus, exposure, color, and flash to help reveal faces in shadows, make skin tones look more natural, reduce red-eye, and eliminate harsh facial glare, so your photos bring out every expression on every face in every shot. The advanced Sony Super HAD(TM) (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. A five-point auto focus evaluates your shot at 5 points on your screen so you'll get great results even with off-center subjects that make interesting photocompositions. The large, bright 2.5" TFT LCD display makes it easy to compose shots, check results, and read menus in sharp natural color, even in bright sunlight. You can take three shots automatically at 1-second intervals (VGA standard mode) or 2-second intervals (full resolution mode). When shooting photos using your camera and an optional GPS unit, the software even provides a convenient map view function that lets you sort photos by location and displays their origin on a world map. This is an excellent product. I bought my Sony to make video reviews and to take a multitude of pictures. The camera comes with a very user friendly "how to" manual for those of us who aren't too tech savvy. For the price, it is a steal. The picture quality is excellent and rivals the quality from a lot of more expensive cameras. The Sony software isn't interchangeable with other brands so be ready to pay a little more to equip your product with Sony only products. All in all, an excellent purchase!
