Excellent, better than an iPod shuffle October 31, 2005 Mannina Magha (Traveller) 32 out of 33 found this review helpful
have been using creative products for over 10+ years - started with soundblasters and now in mp3 and they have been making excellent products from then to now. What do I love my muvo ? + Cute and compact + Nice looking LCD display (ipod shuffle does'nt have this) + MP3 & FM (ipod shuffle does'nt have FM) + Record FM radio into mp3 (not in ipod shuffle) + Record your own voice & lectures (not in ipod shuffle) + No need for custom software(ipod shuffle requires custom s/w) + FM Presets - store your favourite channels + Easily available batteries (AA) + Flash drive, no micro drives (which have moving parts) + International FM tuning support - US FM channels are like 101.3, 97.3 etc, but in India, frequencies are 91.0, 101.0. Some FM tuners do not even tune to .0 frequences. But Muvo has been made flexible enough to tune to all frequencies What I do not like about muvo ? - Wish if they had made the mp3 player seperate from the USB memory so that you could plug any memory card into the mp3 player. So I buy a 256 MB player, but if I want to expand it to 1 GB, I just buy a different memory stick. - Better quality earphones with volume control in the earphone cable I also own an ipod shuffle 1 GB - which is pretty good as well, but i like my muvo better.
exceeds expectations May 5, 2005 J. Sparks (USA) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Easy to use, CD quality sound, good battery life. It comes with a nice arm strap and carry case, but I like to use a lanyard. That's the only thing missing from this excellent product.
MUCH better than an iPod (aside from storage space) April 8, 2005 A. Nowak (Georgia) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
For me, 512 MB is enough. I just got it today and i can put 110 songs onto it. It doesnt sound like much, but if an average song is 3 min long, thats 110 x 3 = 330 min which is 5 1/2 hours of music. Thats a mix of MP3's and WMA's (more mp3's). Pleanty of music! Now lets see, does an iPod have an included arm band? NO. A protective case with belt clip? NO. Voice recorder? NO. Radio? NO. Flash drive? NO. 1 AAA battery (instead of a rechargeable battery that runs down after time) NO. My roomates both have iPods (a 20gig and a 4 gig) and they spent so much more money on those, and I have more features than they do (i got mine at J&R computers for $110 shipping included)! Sure, I have less space, but if you need more space, get the 1gig version of this player. I dont see whats so special about iPods, I think its just the new trend. The only downside of this player??? No clock? I guess a clock could be nice... Overall I LOVE THIS PLAYER and will cherish it for a LONG TIME! FORGET THE DUMB IPODS!
Awesome little MP# player May 12, 2005 Isara Indra 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Superb quality, It survived 2 washer and dryer cycles. My girl friend left this in her jacket and went through the whole laundry cycle not once but twice. It still works just fine. This is an awesome device.
Dead after 6 months.. June 29, 2005 Famous SD (San Diego) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have the Creative MuVo TX FM 512 MB MP3 Player. After 6 months of no problems my player just shut off on me yesterday. It would turn on, then after 20 seconds, it would shut off. I swapped out the battery, still nogo. I formatted the drive and tried listening to just the radio, nogo. I loaded the new firmware from Creative's site, nogo. So now I'm stuck w/ a broke MP3 player. Creative wants $50 to fix it. BEWARE: Their warranty is good for 90 days (not 12 months). I went to Creative's forum and it seems that ALOT of people have this same problem but yet Creative does nothing about it. I wish I had bought an Ipod. Creative sucks. Their products work for a few months then crap out on you!!
