I bought this hoping to be able to monitor my home via the internet, but if it's possible, I haven't figured out how yet and I'm an IT specialist by profession. A CD came with the package that's supposed to install an application to monitor the cameras from the internet. Along with some other files, it contained a file with a virus that was detected by McAfee, and things went down hill from there. I had to copy the CD, less the infected file to another CD to attempt to install the internet viewing software, but haven't been able to complete the installation because the software doesn't support the cameras or receiver. Here are some quotes from the installation manual. "install Soho Surveillance for local surveillance Soho Surveillance software not only support Four divided browse on computer, real time monitor, taking photos or videos, but also support cycling channel switch, cycling time setting and so on." and "The software need register after installation for normal use. Please do it by following step on the main interface. Fill in the registration number which is on the bag of the CD we offer." Note, I double checked what I entered above and it is exactly as it appears in the user manual, i.e. notecard, that came with the cameras. Punctuation, wording, spelling and all are exactly as printed in the manual. Also, the company name is TransTech from Prairieville, LA according to Amazon and all the information I received prior to receiving the product, but the manual says JMC Electron Co. Ltd. A quick google of them shows it's a Chinese company of less than 5 people.
