Umbrella screw not good quality September 19, 2007 A. Ebrahim 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
While this holder worked as expected for few days, the umbrella screw hole became loose and can't hold the umbrella anymore. I ordered two of these and I will go with somthing different next time.
Great for startup portraiture December 6, 2006 S. F. Roney (California) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
This item does exactly what it's supposed to, and that's hold an umbrella and shoe-mount flash on a light stand for portrait shooting. A great deal at the price, and I highly recommend this item. The only reason it got four stars instead of five is that it's only use is as a backup item (in case your strobes fail on you in a critical shoot) or as a budget startup item. If you don't need backup, and aren't on a budget, invest in some strobes and get a nice strobe clamp.
Everything is good but the cold shoe that comes with it. May 4, 2008 Guy Montag (Dallas, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's a good swivel holder, but the cold shoe that comes with it is a POS. Soft metal, the screws strip out without even putting any pressure on them! If you've got your own cold shoes, or don't need them, this is great. Otherwise? Might want to go with a different swivel holder.
Solid build... good product! June 7, 2007 David Griffin 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Strong holder, solid build, good prouct! This is the tool you need to turn those ordinary on camera flashes into studio workhorses!
It works, but not wonders. June 1, 2008 Inigo (Boston, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good product, it perfectly does what it's supposed to. The only thing that bugged me is that the adjusting knobs for the studs are placed on a part where they block (in certain angles) the umbrella rod from going farther so you get less angle. Anyway, it's not the angles you use everyday and you can also use a boom stand for extreme angles. I'm happy with it and always carry 2 of these with me.
