Amazon.com Product Description The Pentax IQZoom EZY-R is a simple point-and-shoot camera that automatically adjusts focus and exposure for clear results. You can bring your subjects closer with the 38-70mm zoom lens, and distant scenery is clearly captured with the infinity landscape mode. The IQZoom EZY-R includes other automatic features such as focus, exposure, load, and rewind with midroll rewinding possible. The flash provides on/off options, daylight synch, slow shutter synch, bulb synch, and red-eye reduction. It also provides backlight compensation with automatic discharge under low light conditions. The 10-second self-timer gives you time to get in the picture. The IQZoom EZY-R also has a power-off feature that turns off the camera after three minutes of inactivity to save power and help protect the lens.
Product Description Slim and trim, the Pentax IQZoom EZY-R fits naturally in your hand and slips readily into your pocket. Yet, it packs an abundance of handy features within. Best of all, this stylish and intelligent camera makes shooting a breeze, even when you zoom in on far away subjects. With the Pentax IQZoom EZY-R, you'll get beautiful results every time.

You End Up Missing The Shot! April 27, 2000 67 out of 71 found this review helpful
I bought this camera a year ago and am not happy. First of all, when you press on the button to take the picture, you have to hold it down for several seconds before it even snaps the picture! If you've ever tried to capture that "moment", this is not the camera for you-the moment will have already passed by the time the camera takes the picture. Also, when you zoom in to take a picture, say, of a baby's face, it cuts the head off-the window is not true to what you get. When you take pictures with this camera, be sure to allow about a centimeter or so around what the camera shows to be your picture, otherwise, you'll always get shopped off heads, etc. It does take good clean pictures, if you're interested in it for scenery-great, for people-not so great.
This is the worst camera I have ever purchased! October 26, 2000 22 out of 24 found this review helpful
I've had a terrible experience with this camera. I've only had it for four months and it's already broken. Let me just say that it never worked well to begin with. At least 1/3 of my pictures are not in focus. I thought that it was just me holding the camera improperly, but I set the camera on a stationary surface and used the timer to take the picture. The picture was still not in focus. The date is forver resetting to 1994, and the last straw happened today when I opened the camera to remove the roll of film which I thought was finished, but it never advanced at all. When I opened the camera, the film was jammed in the take up spool and a square piece of plastic fell off of the back of the cover. After doing some research, I went out and bought an Olympus Stylist. I hope that Pentax will honor their product and refund my money. Heaven knows that the IQ Zoom is a worthless piece of junk.
good for the money October 13, 2000 J. Tinnell (Crane, Texas USA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
It has a sharp lens and lots of advanced features ("B" shutter speed, slow-synch flash, etc.) for the entry-level price. I've always lugged around an SLR with extra lenses, but this summer I got one of these for my daughter before we went to Washington, DC. I ended up using the EZY-R more than my big Nikon -- and the photos I took (mostly daylight scenics and family snapshots) came out just as good as the Nikon's. It does have the same limitations as any [similar] camera, but I think it's a good product if you know those limitations.
We use this a lot! November 16, 2000 Jeanie Balch (Louisville, CO USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought this camera for my daughter, but it has quickly become the family camera. It's lightweight, easy to tote around, easy to use. 400 speed film or greater is a must, as anything slower results in slightly blurry pictures. I like all the different features for adjusting the flash and red eye settings, and using the automatic timer. We have not had any mechanical or electronic problems, and batteries for this camera are not expensive.
Waste of money September 4, 2000 9 out of 29 found this review helpful
I bought this camera over a year ago and used it once. After having the pictures developed we never used it again.
