"Mes Vacances Avec Holga" Photo Book by Frederic Lebain: A self-taught photographer, Mr. Lebain first saw the Holga 4 years ago in a New York photo shop. Since then, he has become one of the premier Holga artists in the world, holding exhibitions throughout Europe and Asia and being published in the venerable likes of Jalouse and DS Magazine. This 90 page book is a visual chronicle of Mr. Lebain's travels over the past few years, as told through his very finest Holga images. Softcover. Published by the Lomographic Society, 2002

Extremely Fun Camera July 23, 2007 Steven W. Reeves 38 out of 39 found this review helpful
Take a break from digital photography. Let go of instant gratification. Embrace Lo-Fi photography! This camera is a ton of fun. Load it up with cheap film from the closeout bin of your local camera shop. Snap away at anything at all. Double exposures, color-filled flashes, low-tech panoramics! Get your drugstore to process the film wrong (cross-process slide film) You can't mess up the pictures. They're messed up by design! This funky counter-culture camera takes great "grunge" pictures that are a thousand times more interesting than yet another round of boring snapshots of your friends sitting around the table at Chili's smiling over half-eaten plates of chicken tenders.

I have really enjoyed this kit. Before I bought it I was interested in trying a Holga but I knew nothing about the kind of film it needed or how to use the camera. This kit came with everything I needed - even batteries and electrical tape!
worth every penny! August 21, 2007 derf (My living room, Maui HI) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
a friend of mine and i were talking about how much we wanted holgas but couldn't find them... so when i saw this on here i immediately bought two kits, one for me and one for her. and YES IT COMES WITH THE CAMERA. i just wanted to say that. but the whole package is great! comes with film, batteries, a poster extolling the virtues of lomography, a mini-handbook for the camera itself, incredibly easy to use. and what i think really makes the package is the "HOLGA - life through a plastic lens" book, with Holga enthusiasts, experts and aficionados giving you tips and sharing their images. Such a charming book, breathtaking pictures, and inspiring because it shows you what this cheap little thing is capable of. and they also give you cool little tricks for modifying the camera and different effects you can get and so on. so... yeah. Buy it!
Way Cool! May 18, 2007 Shawn (Ogden, UT United States) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Very cool, and it takes GREAT pictures. The way things used to be done. Very MANUAL. The colored flash really does some awesome stuff on film.
Addicted to Holga September 2, 2007 C. Lorena (LV NV) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I first started out with digital, but was drawn to the world of lomography and holga-graphy. I thought the package would take forever to get here because of the arrival estimate, but it came in quite fast. I bought the kit for $50, and thought it was a good invesment--the package came in with the camera, several manuals, batteries, tape, 120 film and a great book from the lomography society featuring holga shots, tips and tricks. I am almost done with the first film and can't wait to see how it turns out. There is one downside though. The Holga camera I bought was a 120 CFN, which uses different colored flashes. I was very disappointed that the flash did not work! I tried changing batteries--nada. It sucks to have a 120 CFN with a non-working flash; I mean, the color flash is the defining characteristic of this model! The Holga is an awesome camera because you never know what you'll get image-wise, but please don't expect that it will WORK because after all, it is just a cheap plastic toy camera...
