This tripod is just shy of 60" height with all legs extended and monopod center column left all the way down. The footprint diameter is 56" when set up this way (legs in normal position). Each leg can be set at two lower angles for closer to ground work. A short center column (#7819) will be required to get closest to ground level and because the leg height is so long, you can leave the monopod center column off. This will reduce the weight.
You may not want to carry this pod while hiking as it's folded size is about 24" x 5"dia. and weighs 5 lbs. without the head. The carrying handle is comfortable but a bag is always a good idea.
