Wobbles and sags February 16, 2008 Andreas Braunlich (Hayden, Idaho USA) This is simply not worth the money. It is almost impossible to get my camera properly aimed at my subject on this thing. The head sags so badly that I have to aim above my subject, tighten the handle and hope the camera sags to the right position. The slightest breeze makes hand holding the camera a better option. I have since given up on this tripod and bought a real one.
Very Low Quality Tripod January 27, 2008 B. Loveless This tripod claims to be 60", but the tallest it will go with the legs out for stability is 49.5". I got this tripod because I am simply giving photography a try, and it was inexpensive. I thought I was getting a tripod that would at least be sturdy. I have yet to take a picture with the camera on this where it is not blurry (due to shake). I do not have a remote for my camera, but with the camera mounted to the tripod, I always use the delayed timer, so I am not touching the camera or tripod to take a picture. Even with this technique, the tripod is still shaking after 2 seconds from hitting the button to take a picture. In summary, this tripod is a $20 paperweight.
Ain't Got No "Fluid" Head June 25, 2004 Wualta (Grand Rapids MI) 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
Fluid heads are found on professional tripods and allow butter-smooth pans and tilts damped by heavy oil or grease. This is just an inexpensive tripod with a plastic head. It's good plastic, but it flexes. For the money, it's perfectly okay, but don't expect to put a camcorder on it and get a jerk-free pan. It's reasonably compact and light, and the legs are metal with snap-lock type leg locks. Just don't put your Calumet view camera on this thing and try to make like Ansel Adams. For anything the size of a Canon G-series digital camera or smaller, it's fine. The nylon carry bag is a nice little plus.
