There is little question that GitzoGitzo G1564 MK2 Studex 4 Section Monopod seems to be forever changing its product serial numbers. So when you order a product you had better be precise. That was my experience with this product. It was not what I was looking for: it did not have the latest locking leg mechanism, which is a welcome advance in making leg adjustments an almost one-hand operation. This particulart monopod is probably best-suited for someone wishing to hold a 35mm, or digital camera, with an extremely heavy, presumably telephoto, lens. At 2lbs, it's a bit weighty for the average walking around photographer. Gitzo products are superb and this particular item is very well made in that tradition.
