Great Product January 21, 2006 Charles Macnaughton (Meriden, CT USA) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
1st off, this is the only photo printer I've used, so I can't compare it to other manufacturers/models. I'm more than satisfied. The print quality is outstanding and the printer driver works great from multiple applications. The manufacturer claims the printer ships with paper and an ink cartridge for 20 prints. I did get the 20 sheets of paper, but I've already printed 30 photos and my ink is about 20% used, so apparently they ship this printer with a full (100+ prints) ink cartridge, so it's probably a safe bet to buy some extra paper. I also bought the 270 print-pack of paper/print cartridges, which works out to no more than 24-cents per print. Be sure to factor the price-per-print into your purchase equation. This printer exceeds all others in this regard, and you don't sacrifice quality in the bargain.
Best computer accessory I have ever purchased January 14, 2006 Shirliana R. Webb 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This printer is by far is the best computer accessory I've ever bought for myself. An avid picture taker, I am more than pleased with the quality of the photos this printer produces. On top of that, it's compact size makes it's easy to take along when I go out of town. In addition, now when we have family gatherings, I always supply my guests with photos of the event even before they leave our house. They love it and what a nice remembrance! Two tips: When you buy the print pack, also purchase an extra package of just the epson 4 x6 paper. The ink lasts longer than the 100 sheets included in the print pack. Also - purchase a basic photo editing program for editing and cropping your photos before having them be printed. They'll turn out better. It was totally worth every penny plus more!!
Does what it claims, and does it well. March 18, 2006 A. Rossetti (MILFORD, DE USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is an excellent photo printer for your 4x6 needs. The only thing that would make it better would be an LCD display of your pictures, but if you realy want that feature, you can always spend some extra dough and get the Deluxe model which offers the LCD. The printer is easy to use, with or without being hooked up to your PC. It's compact enough to even take with you on vacation if you so desired. I can't speak to the longevity of the prints, since I've only had this item for a little less than 2 months, but the initial quality is certainly excellent.
Unbelievable Product!! January 10, 2006 R. Schaefer 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've read other reviews of the PictureMate, calling it slow, loud etc....all I can say is that these reviewers must have mixed up this product with another! This is the most awesome printer I have ever used! The pictures are unbelievable and the PictureMate allows you to both fix and enhance your pics without using a computer! I honestly think that the pics that came out of my PictureMate look BETTER than ones I've gotten from a photo lab. The ink cartridge lasts a LOOOONG time, so order extra paper. The machine is quick, quiet and very easy to use. A word of advice, use Epson photo paper and no other!! When experimenting, I used another brand of paper that I had on hand - big mistake! The Epson paper dries immediately and other brands will not. I ended up trashing a pile of pics that stuck together or had fingerprints on them. However, the ink and paper pack is so inexpensive here on Amazon there is no reason to use anything else! I am one happy camper. The quality of my scrapbooks just went way up!!!
Easy to use with great results March 18, 2006 Dale J. Bjorklund (St. Peter, MN USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Most of the reviewers have it right about Epson's PictureMate system. What a dream to set up and use. Simply fantastic prints with vibrant color and incredible detail. If you want to print great 4 x 6 images very economically look no further. Your existing images will really come to life for you. I thought I needed a new camera. I was wrong.
