A (Nearly) Full-Featured Digital Picture Frame (4+ Stars) November 18, 2008 Debbie Lee Wesselmann (the Lehigh Valley, PA) 115 out of 133 found this review helpful
This Kodak EasyShare P720 digital frame is a generation beyond the earlier models. With its touch border that allows the user to set up a slide show from a variety of options, the interface is friendly for even someone not entirely comfortable with new technology.
The unit comes with a black frame and two colored mattes (burgundy and silver) to dress up the look. Photos can be introduced either through a USB device or a memory card. Old digital frames used to have individual slots for the different kinds of memory cards, but the EasyShare has a single one that accommodates SD, XD, MMC, and MS cards. The included CD with EasyShare software is for Windows only; however, Mac software is available on the Kodak site. The best part of this frame is that you don't need the software to use it right out of the box. Simply stick in a memory device, turn it on, and the frame begins displaying. The only features this frame is missing that some more advanced models have are wireless connectivity and MP3 playback.
The EasyShare can be oriented for horizontal or vertical use. Because the device "letterboxes" photos not laid out in the same manner as the frame, the best look comes from a selection of photographs taken in the same manner -- for example, all horizontal photos for the horizontal display option. Choose from two different angles for table top display or mount it on the wall (hanging hardware not included); the white power cord is meant to be unobtrusive against a light background.
For a special gift, load up a memory card or USB device with family pictures and insert it in the frame before wrapping. We did this a couple of years ago with a different model for our parents, and they spent a lot of time watching and reminiscing within minutes of opening the gift.
IMPORTANT: I just learned that this review has been incorrectly cross-posted to the pages for both the P720 and the W820 frames. This review is for the P720, not the W820. Amazon has been notified of the bug.

Great for the office desk! November 24, 2008 Zack Davisson (Seattle, WA, USA) 41 out of 46 found this review helpful
In the age of digital cameras, digital photo frames are the logical next step. Why be restricted to displaying a single picture? In truth, I am a little surprised it took this long for them to get onto the market! Even so, it has taken while for them to get up to speed on functionality/affordability. With the "Kodak EasyShare P720 Digital Picture Frame" they have finally arrived.
Easy, absolutely no-fuss and with no need to be technical savvy, this digital picture frame is totally cool. Just pop the memory card out of your camera and pop it into the frame and you can watch your pictures unfold. There are some bonus features on the frame, all of which are accessed by a simple touch mechanism around the boarder, which means you don't have to dirty up the screen by constant pressing. Most of the features involve length of time between pictures and how they will transition.
The screen itself isn't too big, and kind of disappears in the home but is just perfect for a desk at work. Almost everyone keeps a few pictures of their family at the office, and the range of pictures available on this digital photo frame is all the better. It also means that you can easily change the photos just by bringing in a new memory chip. When work gets tough you can look at your latest vacation photos and drift away into good memories!
The frame does not include a memory chip, so isn't complete right out of the box. Obviously, all digital cameras will have a memory chip but if you use that then you won't be able to take more pictures! I like the USB drive option, which will not only hold more photos but makes it really easy to change out your selection. In fact, if you were going to give the EasyShare frame as a give, I would recommend packaging it with a USB flash drive like the Kingston 8GB DataTraveler USB flash drive - High Speed USB, maybe already loaded up with some photographs.
I like it for basic photos December 9, 2008 L. Smallwoo (Nashville, Tn) 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
When I bought this for my grandparents, I was looking for something easy. To be frank, I just wanted a flash drive port. All I had to do was plug the frame in, insert the card, and hit go. Poof! Easy as pie for grandma and grandpa. I have no intent to explore all the features that probably made this so expensive, but if you're in the same situation I am, it works. And on a Mac too. :)
Kodak Quality is going up! A nice digital frame. P720 Review - Becareful of the review before you purchase. November 17, 2008 J. J. Marino (Rochester, New York) 43 out of 53 found this review helpful
Amazon has clumped all of the reviews for the Kodak EasyShare Digital frames into one page. It is important you read the review for the product you wish to purchase; my review is for the P720.
Kodak may have been late to the digital bandwagon, but they have in recent years stepped up the quality significantly. This digital frame has plenty of memory for photos at "its" resolution. Before you look at the fact it only has a small amount of memory. The screen is small enough so that a 480x234 image looks fine. A way to get more on the frame is to purchase a really large SD Memory card and bump up the amount of storage available.
Not a bad way to bring old technology (like a picture frame) up to today's technology!
It is VERY easy to set up and if you are going to give this as a gift for a not-so tech savvy person you can rest assured it is very simple to use. What a better way to send an awesome gift this year.
Pros:
>> Easy to use interface
>> Solidly built, sure to become an heirloom
>> Photos/Video
>> Wonderful quality
Cons:
<< Not wireless P720
<< Moderate size internal memory
Thank you for reading my review.

Great Product December 30, 2008 B. Peeples 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This frame was given as a gift to my parents and they adore it. It is very intuitive to set up and the timer feature is great so it automatically turns on and off at the desired time each day. Also the photos display on it beautifully. The only disapointment (if it can be considered one)is the display format is different than that of my digital photos. Therefore if you set the display for the pictures to fill the entire screen (instead of having black bars on each side) some of the picture is cut off, which in some cases leave heads, etc clipped off. I did not think of this prior to purchase and have not since looked to see if most digital frames are this same dimension. However, we still enjoy this frame!
