The best Digital Photo Frame I've seen so far...... October 25, 2007 M. Saletta (Sun City, AZ.) 27 out of 27 found this review helpful
The Aluratek 11 in. Digital Photo Frame is the best I've seen so far. With 1GB of Internal Memory, there is plenty of room for PICS and Music. The 1024x786 Resolution is great. The PICS I put in the frame look outstanding. I have an imac and it was just drag and drop from iphoto. I paid $208 from Ritz Camera. What a bargain. If you are looking for a Dig. Photo Frame, take a look at this one. I don't think you'll find a better frame for the money.
Aluratek 11" digital picture frame December 3, 2007 Hamlet T. Newsom 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these units about 6 weeks ago. The picture is sharp, easy setup, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. My kids managed to damage the remote control this weekend, and when I called Aluratek to purchase a new remote, they kindly offered to send me one for free. Now that's customer service. Highly recommend
wonderful item from a very bad seller November 25, 2007 r. chandler (Orlando, Florida) 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
Purchased from antonline and arrived with screws loose and some minor scraches in an original box open and damaged, with no protection on the botton of the package. Email the seller througt amazon asking advice because those screws makes difficult to star on the frame: no answer yet. When I make it work the digital frame have a wonderful image and easy features. Looks like only works with a memory card inserted. Thinking to sended back, but it is not an easy solution for me. I rate the digital photo frame 4.5 plus, but my rate for antonline is poor.
Capable but unimpressive January 22, 2008 R. Pearce (Cypress, TX USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
A digital frame should be built so that transferring images is easy. The two features that attracted me the most were that it could store more data than most units and that it could playback movies. Making the unit perform as advertised was not easy. Instruction manual would make a better birdcage liner. To the manufacturer, I say, "C'mon!" I make websites for a living and this digital frame was not easy. Three things you will need before buying this unit: 1. Patience 2. Technical saavy 3. A certain amount of restraint not to throw it through the window. I recommend that the manufacturer make the following three improvements: 1. When you claim that the digital frame allows .jpg images, then make the unit so that it accepts all kinds of .jpg images including the most ubiquitous "progressive" .jpg images. These are the kind of images used on the web. Why would you exclude these? 2. When you claim that the unit allows video movies, then print on the box and the manual that the format must be .mpeg1. And allow more formats like .mpeg4 and .wmv files. Be less restrictive. 3. Test your product in the U.S. before selling it here. Include techies and grandparents, alike.
1GB Internal Memory Misleading January 24, 2008 NoSleep2Nite4Me (Elkins Park, PA USA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
The large screen and the resolution of the Aluratek 11-inch digital frame is one of the best out in the market for this price range so I gave this a 3 star. However, I expected it to come with an onboard 1GB internal memory but there is no onboard internal storage at all. Instead, it comes with a 1GB SD card which you can leave in the SD slot. Since the SD card that comes with it will take up the only SD slot available, there is no way you can transfer images from your own SD card without doing so through a computer. Actually, the only memory card to memory card transfer that you can do with this frame is from a Compact Flash card and even then, the transfer process is annoying because you have to do it one image at a time. Also, you have to manipulate images using your computer or camera first to correct any image orientation that looks "sideways". Menus can only be controlled through the remote that comes with it. The slideshow cannot be sorted or grouped without manipulating the file name of the images first (it defaults to showing the images in alphabetical order). There are probably digital frames without onboard internal memory for a cheaper price but most of them have a lower resolution.
