Amazon.com Product Description The Celestron 71105 Outland LX 10 x 42 waterproof binoculars are built to withstand the elements. Great for boaters and hunters, but well-suited to any sport or nature activity in which you might face rain, sleet or fog, the Outland LX waterproof series takes Celestron's popular Outland series to an even higher performance level. The Outland LX features fully multi-coated optics, extreme near focus, and a four element objective lens for ultra sharp focus across the field of view. With nitrogen-filled and sealed bodies and a protective rubber covering, all Outland LX models are waterproof as well as fog proof. The Celestron 71105 features a 10x magnification and an objective lens diameter of 42 millimeters, giving it a 4.2 millimeter exit pupil. (The exit pupil size--the diameter of the objective lens divided by the magnification--determines the amount of light available to your eye. The larger the exit pupil, the brighter the image obtained will be. A three-millimeter exit pupil is generally sufficient for daytime use, five-millimeters is suitable for daytime and twilight, and seven-millimeters is generally necessary for maximum nighttime or astronomy use.) All Outland LX models also come with Celestron's No Fault Limited Lifetime Warranty. What's in the Box Celestron 71105 Waterproof Binoculars and moisture resistant neoprene carrying case

I have several pairs of binoculars. Outland LX 10X42 has a very wide view for a 10X power binocular. Close focus is closer than most other 10X42mm binoculars. These binoculars are high quality with the BAK4 prisms.I have 3 smaller 21mm 22mm & 24mm compact binoculars, with these Outland 42mm medium sized binoculars I rarely use the others. I think you will agree! I mostely like to view birds and wildlife with these.

I have two pairs of these binoculars as well as a pair of the Outland LX 8x42. I prefer the 10x42 and my husband prefers the 8x42 but both like to use both pairs. The twist up eyecups are a huge benefit whether or not you wear eyeglasses. The are not too heavy and being water proof, even if you do not use them near water it is a plus due to moisture etc. Be sure to twist down the eyecuyps when not using them since if you drop them with the eyecups up and then land on that end it will bend the edge. Even so, I bought myself a second pair because I like them so much.
